I have a 2000 Eton Beamer...and as soon as I hit 30 MPH the revs slow down and it doesnt let me go pass 30 MPH. I know that the later beamers have a green wire running from the CDI that you can just cut, but I dont see a green wire in this one. Any ideas?

I think you are on the right track looking for a CDI restriction. Unfortunately I have no experience with the Beamer CDIs. I'm sure someone here can help though.

Make sure you take your CDI all the way out, mine was tucked inside the rubber connector the cdi is attached to.

Thats also where the green wire on mine was at. They tuck them in behind that rubber boot or holder that keeps it attached to the frame. You may Also check the cvt for a spacer between the variator halves.

I have heard about the spacer....how does that work exactly on restricting?

If you keep the front pulley from closing all the way, the belt can't travel as high as it should be able to for the best "top gear" so you lose some speed.

I have the same model...no restrictor wire on the CDI, or underneath the rubber holder...it does have a washer under the variator, but that didnt seem to get any more top speed...
