I have ordered from Blacktop Motorsport four times to date. I'm just going to tell you my experiences and let you draw your own conclusions, because I'm not even sure what I think of the whole deal.
First Order
Air Filter : Correct.
Seat Latch : Correct.
Steering Stem : Wrong item (wouldn't fit my Vento Triton, which it was listed for).
I contacted Blacktop Motorsport and was told to ship the steering stem back and I could get refund for it. I wanted an exchange for the correct part, but was informed that it was the only one they had. I had to pay return shipping, but otherwise the return process was pretty simple.
Second Order
Recieved quickly.
Starter Motor : Correct.
Tailight Assembly : Correct.
Third Order
Recieved quickly.
CVT Belt : Correct.
Variator Fan (Fixed Drive) : Damaged (scratched, scuffed, nicked).
Variator (Movable Drive) : Damaged (scractched, scuffed, gouged).
Starter Clutch Assembly : Incomplete (missing internal components).
Kick Start Gear : Flawed (Excess metal blocking teeth of the gear).
I contacted Blacktop Motorsport about the variator parts and the starter clutch. I didn't even realise the kick start gear was flawed at the time. I asked if they would ship me the replacements as I shipped my items back, and if they would do anything about return shipping cost. I mentioned a previous order, and basically said that mistakes happen, but this is my second order needing return service so that's why I asked about return shipping cost. I also asked if I should ship the incomplete part, or would they just ship me what it is missing.
All emails from the Blacktop representative I dealt with were very curt. I was told that my previous order mixup was my fault, even though the part was labeled for my scooter. That was their way of dismissing my request for return shipping. It took multiple emails to clarify whether I needed to ship incomplete parts back. I never got an answer about shipping at the same time so I could recieve my parts in a more timely manner, ignore it and it will go away I guess.
I did send back a rude email of my own, basically telling this guy that I didn't appreciate the way I was being talked to. I don't like to be rude, but I don't like being treated like an idiot either.
I shipped back the parts at my expense, and recieved a phone call two days later from the representative I had emailed back and forth. He said they got my parts and would be sending out the replacement parts on the next business day.
I recieved the parts a week later (every other order as well as my return shipment only took two business days because we are so close). I was very pleased to see that the parts were not damaged and I was given a starter gear and needle bearing that I never even ordered. I emailed the rep that I had dealt with and thanked them for making an effort to make things right, and even apologized for being rude. I still feel that I was justified to speak to them in the same manner that I was spoken too, but that doesn't mean that I like to present myself that way. I never got a reply for that one.
I later noticed my kickstart gear was flawed, and decided that it isn't worth paying $10 return shipping on an $18 part as well as having to deal with their customer service methods again. I may have had no trouble with the return, who knows. It just didn't seem like it was worth the hassle to get my part 2 weeks later after being insulted if it did turn out like my last return.
Fourth Order
Recieved in about 2 1/2 weeks.
Gaskets : Correct
Belt : Correct
52mm High Compression Head : Not recieved.
I contacted Greg and told him about the missing head. They don't have it anymore. I was told I would be refunded the money for the head. Now, 7 months from the time I ordered, there is still no refund on my credit card. Any attempt to contact them lately has been ignored.
