www.scootercannonball.com/rules/rules-2012.pdfwhats unfair he met 3 of the 4 requrements that you only had to meet 1 of and the salisbury didnt orignaly have a unit consturction swing arm engine trans so he moded his scoot to run a modern motorcycle engine but he still was within the rules

I never said he wasnt within the 'rules'...and i never said it was 'unfair' (i said it hardly seems fair) The Burgmans and Majestys were allowed in and they dont technically have a step through frame which the Frankenbike did have. A real scooter doesnt have a chance with those 'rules'. they might as well make it open to motorcycles too....but then a Can-Am Spyder would probably win.

you cant say no manual trans as some scoots do come with a manual trans the maxis were in this year becuase they took the displacement cap off they have a unit built engine trans swing arm
its just reading the rules and building to the rules thats exactly what i did when i raced circle track read the rules see what it says i cant do if it doesnt say i cant do it and i can get an advantage then i would do it
any race boils down to who can spend the most or bend the rules to there advantage the most

That's a kickass scooter, but I get what you're saying Jason. Would be cool to see more conventional scoots have a chance, but then I would hate to see any rules change that encourage things like that beast to be built.

I am glad I am not the only one that 'gets it'. It IS one hell of a creation though I agree.

Racing to me is all things being equal...and see who has the ability and skills to win it.

so you dont take in to accout the abulty to read the rules or to build a better machine
then all the races might as well be like the iroc where every one is on the exact same thing
i raced with a low budget and found many ways to beat high dollar teams that just throw money at problems
winning the race isnt just about the abilty to drive or ride the machine its about the ability to build a machine too

I like the rule pushing racing. A friend of mine is considering getting into Chump Car racing and I've already read the rule book looking for things to stretch the rules on. Makes it fun, makes people think. Hell if you get everything too close you end up with Formula 1 and just ride around single file. lol

Racing to me is all things being equal...and see who has the ability and skills to win it. that would mean you dont consider any major motor race series (car or bike) to be "racing" if your read the rules you will see the displacement handicap also. so its not really that unfair, is it? and it was only a 250. larger cc bikes than that can and i am sure did enter. hell, if you only have to satisfy one condition out of the 4 you could enter on a harley "2.1.1.4 originally equipped with running boards or leg shield"
