*You'll notice that my handlebars are off of the scooter. This is in no way necessary for the installation of bar end mirrors. My handlebars were off for other purposes.* You'll need to open the end of the grip, so the bar end adapter can fit through it. I don't even remove the grip to cut it. I start by making cross or X shaped cuts in the end of the grip using a hobby knife. Don't go all the way to the edges. Insert the blade through the center and cut until the handlebar stops you. Cut the 4 sections out, one at a time. It doesn't need to be a perfectly clean cut, the bar end mirror should hide the imperfections. Insert the mirror into the hole and handlebars as far as it will go. You can turn the mirror so it's above or below the bars. I prefer to mount my mirrors below the bars because it doesn't trap my hand between the mirror and the controls. Use the appropriate socket, 6mm allen in this case, to tighten the bolt on end of the mirror as shown. Tightening this bolt will cause the pieces inside the handlebar to expand and hold tight against the inside of the bars. They usually need to be very snug, but don't go overboard. The cheap mirrors like I use, pretty common, will strip the allen head pretty easily if you apply too much force. Once the bar end is secure, adjust the mirror and make sure the clamping and adjustment bolts are secure. That's all there is too it.
