Update I got my OEM Contra spring last week and I finally had the time to swamp it into place. Acceleration is a tad slower with the OEM compared to red aftermarket spring but still got up to 66KPH(40MPH). Bad news is that when I stop to make my first turn like last time it will only go to 42KPH(26MPH) now. A little faster then before (2KPH/1MPH)but still same problem. Okay so its not the contra spring. Now my attention turns to the rollers because this whole situation started after I replaced the old worn out rollers with new OEM rollers. Could they be sticking perhaps after heating up?

Maybe the rollers are but I haven't had the time to disassemble it this weekend but hoping to get to it tonight. I will be cleaning and reassemble everything. Then I will report back.

I now believe I have gotten to the root of my problem. Last Saturday had the time to tear apart the tranny and clean everything. Spent the evening taking all crud off of the variatior, backing plate and anything else that needed to be clean. Before I reassembled it I gave every part a good once over. The face of the variatior is completely pitted and dinged and both it and the backing plate have deep groves where the old rollers made contact with them. The old rollers were so beat up and worn down and flat spotted that there was nothing too them(2 of them had worn through the rubber coating at a flat spot running metal to metal). The new OEM rollers just are not moving smoothly they seam to get stuck. Got a chance to go for a quick teat ride today as weather has bin rainy last three days and I thought the cleaning worked(66KPH/41MPH) till I got to the second of four corners and it would only do 45KPH(28MPH. So looks like a new Variatior kit is indeed needed.

Okay final update. Purchased a new Stage6 variatior kit to go with my stage6 exhaust for my Vino(thanks to ScooterTuning.ca). Had the chance to install it last night(raining no test ride) but as wife and kids are at church I went out for a quick ride. And thank the scooter gods the new variatior works perfectly. With the OEM contra spring in place I managed to get her up to about 68/69KPH(43MPH) and stayed there for my 10Km test ride(well down to 64-65KPH/40MPH with a head wind) GPS numbers later. So looks like the variatior that was in the tranny when I bought it was shot with the old rollers inn it and when I replaced them with the new ones it wasn't able to preform properly. I will replace the OEM Contra spring with the Stage6 spring when I have the chance as I am putting my 50cc scooters to bed for the winter. But the 150 will still be on the road as long as there is no ice or snow on the ground.

if you used the rollers in the old variator, and the old rollers had dug ditches, check your rollers over for any damage if you rode them in that variator. maybe theyre chunking off or something. might get clogged up in your variator and trash it and whatever else it can take out too.
it's easier to replace a 15$ set of rollers then an expensive variator.
way.
and my procedure to make sure a variator will work right, cause i had a junky one, make me do a rebuild.
assemlbe the variator in yoru hand first, with ramp plate, guide slides, your roller weights and the variator, then slide the drive boss, in the variator, and slide it onto your crankshaft. together, assembled. it should slide up smooth. cuase it has to slide back and forth all day. if it doesnt it could, been cut crooked.
make sure to check over all your parts, the slide guides, shouldnt be getting any lines dug into them, nothing noticable, check those over and check your rollers for uneven wear, not flat spots. also you know check for, the flat spots. once too flat, then, replace.
that should stop any use and tearing up before you ride it to break it before you see a problem, then hunt down what it is, then replace it or trade it and have it running.
