So I managed too port a spare intake just wanted to post the difference here and too ask how smooth the finish should be,is what I got good or should it be more smooth any input would be great this is my first port job so the work isn't the best..

Nice difference. Looks OK from what I can see. Intakes don't need to be, and shouldn't be polished or super smooth.

Thanks Vert there is slight groves in the inside but nothing deep,thanks for the input getting ready too put it in and see what I have,also wanted too get this done yesterday but was working on getting a new stearing box in a 89 dodge w100 pickup,what a mother that was:mad:

I got permatex ultra black gasket and I also made a gasket with the brownish color paper gasket maker roll,I want too put the gasket on and the permatex on what should go on first

I take the RTV and put a little on each side then use my fingers (wearing gloves is a good idea) to smear it over the whole surface to get a real thin coat. Don't need much. Lots of excess squeezes out, making a mess.

Thanks also every since I messed with the manifold I get throttle stick and revs take a few seconds too come down when I let off I've adjusted the needle and a/f screw and checked for leaks but no leaks and the a/f and needle adjustments doesn't make it get any better,also checked exhaust seal and head bolts all is good,I'm at a loss on the problem

How did you check for leaks? On 2Ts I don't find the water or propane or whatever methods expecting the engine to respond to be effective like a pressure test.

OK that could still be the issue then,I'll have too make a tester and check that way thanks again!!!
