I have noticed lately that after I start up and twist the throttle in little spurts I hear this squeak coming from my airbox. Has anyone heard this or know what this sound could be? Also I have another question. The cylinder I bought from scrappydog says 49cm3, but the piston is 47mm. When riding it actually feels like my 49cc cylinder I had on when I bought the scoot. Is there a 49cc 47mm bbk?

Maybe you have squirrels living in there.

Could just be air whistling has it gets sucked up by the carb.

Is there a 49cc 47mm bbk? If the cylinder bore and piston are truly 47mm, then it isn't 49cc (you can measure cc volume with liquid). I've read some cylinders are labeled incorrectly so the only way to know is to measure bore mm. My cheap $45 China 47mm BBK wasn't a huge improvement over 49cc either...

bore x stroke = displacement. so I guess its possible but also possible for it to be wrong. Get a caliper out and measure it to be certain.
Also have you opened the air box and looked inside it?

Some companies label their bbks as 49cc to keep it from looking as though it's an illegal for the street cylinder. I've read Stage 6 does it on their Sport cylinder.

Yeah i heard stage 6 does it, but I don't think a no name brand do it. In this case they must have cuz it's 47mm on the money. Also I have doing some tuning and trying to figure out where this squeak comes from and I found out that it comes from the reed valve area. Took everything thing apart inspected everything and found nothing out of the ordinary. cleaned everything up around the outside thinking maybe it wasn't sealing properly. I have had trouble with the Stage 6 intake not sealing properly. Got it to seal, but still have noise. It almost sounds as if it is backfiring into the intake.

Ok now that squeak has turned into more like a backfire into my airbox. Something isn't right. I check my reeds all the way back to my airbox. Also made sure everything is sealed tight. I have no clue what this could be from. It is really bad at start up

Definitely do a vid if you can. Does it run alright at all throttle positions other than this? I know you aren't pleased with the performance, but is it sputtering or anything other than this?

No it's not sputtering and no loss of power. Today I got it up to 48mph.

If you listen closely you can hear the whistle or squeak and when I rev up you can here the pops.

Looks like some of these found their way into your scooter:
Sounds have a mysterious way of bouncing around from place to place. What you think is coming from the airbox could be coming from somewhere else close by. Things that squeaks are often things that rotate.
Have you checked you CVT?
