Don't buy anything until I get it running like it should stock. You have to have a good baseline to do it right. If we knew the cylinder or piston was fried and everything else was good then you could opt for a bbk but I don't want to be trying to tune a carb and cvt for a new pipe with a questionable cvt. I'll get it running right and then you ride it for a bit and decide on upgrades.

Question, should I bring over the compression tester I have and maybe you can see if it actually works or not? I've been meaning to ask you. And trust me, I'd love to see how this thing runs in good shape on its own before I decide on upgrades. Even beat up as it is, it still feels like it has more pep than the M1 I have, at least at the bottom end it does.

I'll do a test with my Mac Tools tester. You can bring it when you pick it up.

Ok good. I'm curious to see where it's at but I would like to see if mine is worth keeping or not. It's a HF one. Which scares me lol.

Had the same thing happen when I used A really thin shim behind the variator... looked exactly like that..I do have a stock crank somewhere if you need to go that way I'd be willing to donate. Sitticuss, If you'd be willing to part with the crank, I'll pay for shipping and even throw you a few bucks for your trouble? I'd say I'd like to get it just in case. I know Dave is limited on space right now but if it turns out that the motor would have to be pulled, I'd rather at least have a good stock crank handy just in case. As for the Vari/Fixed pulley, if I had to buy those new with a new vari I don't mind. My goal is to upgrade this thing eventually, if that means it has to sit for a while getting "fixed" so be it, I'm not in a rush for it to run right now. So I'd like to take advantage of that and gather what I can without going crazy. Dave, how did you get the exhaust to seal? Was the gasket I ordered not enough? Sure it's not a problem I have extra variator parts too. just pm me the address with what you need

Compression is 160 with the starter. Can't kick it. My Malossi fixed pulley is too small for the shaft. It fit my S6 small spline crank fine and the small spline S6 variator back plate is a no go as well. The Malossi fixed measures 12.97 id and the crank spline is 13.13-13.20. Since I was only going to throw these on for a test I'll wait on a good stock small spline fixed pulley and star washer.

Oldgeek put a small spline Vino fixed pulley and star washer in the mail today. I told him your g/f had a hot sister in South Carolina.

So I guess hang on and let's see what happens when Dave gets the parts from Oldgeek? I appreciate it man, really.

No splined washer on these Clank. Just the star washer and kick starter gear are splined. I knew that Clank was trouble! Lol.

To be honest, I can't account for what was splined and what wasn't when I first took that apart or when I changed the belt. I feared taking it apart after that, maybe I should have but by the time the sound came it might have been too late. Now I'm getting pissed that my GF rides the new scooter all the time. So I'm offering for her to take the car Saturday while I have the scooter here, haha.. Problem is I'm going to be working on the patio stones I have stacked on the patio so unless I really need something small from Home Depot, I'll be stuck at home. Unless I need to wheel myself to the hospital.

Actually she doesn't work Saturday. She's going to see family, which can either be as close as Port Salerno or in Indiantown. I'm not making/letting her drive the scooter out to Indiantown, which means I'll have to drive her there and back later. If she takes the car to Port Salerno, then I can go and pick it up if I need it. We're playing it by ear. I need a 3rd scooter. *sigh* Actually I was looking into getting the title for one of the 4t's I have on the patio. At least if I leave those in pieces, they can't rust more than they are already. Though I wish someone here could use them, I hate for them to just sit there.
