Finding the correct bushings was a real pain, but now I have everything I need. However, once the bushings are installed, I cannot remember how to get everything back together again. My problem is the engine (mount) hanger doesn't seem to fit either inside or outside of the lower engine mount bushings anymore. I borrowed this pic from another posting on this site. The circled parts, don't seem to either rest inside or outside of the engine bushings before installing the long pin. I swear this was installed in between the engine bushings, but now it doesn't fit at all. It's as if the hanger width is now 1/2 inch too wide. I have made no modifications or changes at all other than replacing some bushings, and I didn't even replace these engine bushings in question. I replaced the other bushings on the a-frame hanger and the larger rubber bushing on the A-frame tip. The bushings are 100% the correct size and installed perfectly.
Is this things suppose to be offset (refer to the circled parts), meaning 1 side of the hanger rests outside the engine bushing while the other side rests inside the bushing. I'm confused. some other posts talk about the back wheel rubbing on the rear shock? Is this why the hanger might need to be offset? I usually take good notes and a mental picture of this, but i literally thought once I took this apart and pulled the pin, the mount just fell straight out and off course the engine practically dropped on my foot to my dismay.
Need help. Thanks!!! It's annoying to simply put a bike back together and the original parts no longer fit.
50cc taotao broken down to a frame, engine, and wheels... it's a scooter pit bike!!!
