You should start saying wild stuff that would require lots of explantation... but then say you can't talk about it. Like... "The harness on the goat snapped and... sorry, it hurts too much to talk about." "I guess you didn't hear what happened at Disney World?" "It was my first day at work and they were showing me how to clear a paper jam."... Then some fake tears. That's what I'd do anyway.

Now all you need is a more suitable story on how you got it to impress the chicks.....I was shagging this fat chick and the bed broke. Then the floor caved in. There I was buried under a pile of cupcakes and doritos.....

Time for another update! I'm still alive!
So I had my physical therapy evaluation this week on Tuesday and my followup with the Ortho on Thursday.
The phys therapy evaluation went well. My range of motion was good already and there's no tenderness or pain where he tested. He said I was in good shape to start. I'm doing some small exercises to get the leg muscles back alive a little.
The Doctor visit went even better. They did an xray and decided that at 6 weeks after the operation, I'm already ready to start putting weight on it. I can only put 50% weight and still have to use the walker. At least until the leg is stable to hold its own or I can use a cane. But they Dr said I'm healing quicker than expected, he said there's no worry about breaking anything at this point. I just have to go slow to get the joint going and make sure it gets its range of motion back.
I also went back to work on Monday. I've been working mostly half days and will probably still take it easy next week as well. But hey, I'm getting back to it little by little. Driving myself around is a big step, showering on my own too.
Still no word on the M1. My cousin is trying to talk to someone he knows there and I may try and swing over there myself sometime soon. If not just to get my stuff off the scooter that I can.
That's about it to report. I hope you guys are all scootin' your brains out.
If I can't get the M1 back, I'll just continue working on the VX50 when I'm able to. I contemplated on selling it and maybe taking it easy on the two wheel ventures for a while. I don't know, I'll see how I feel once I'm functioning again. It's going to be a while still though, this is going to be weeks if not months before I can walk normally.
Take care guys!

Good to hear you're healing up well. Regarding giving 2 wheels a break, stuff happens. It's unfortunately something anyone that rides any 2 wheeler has to be willing to deal with. IMO you should never ride a scooter or motorcycle and assume everything will be fine. Nobody wants to crash, but if riding means a lot to us for whatever the reasons then it's a risk we take. Lessen the risk with safer riding practices, like not spinning the tire in grass. I do my share of that kind of stuff too though, so I don't say that with any malice.... just sometimes we do things that we prob know better about and it catches up. Give it a rest till you are healed up though. Hope the recovery continues to go so well. Thanks for stopping in and keeping us updated.

So I've been a lazy ass and haven't updated, or have I? I know I neglected to post the latest Xrays. So here they are. That was about two weeks ago. I'm putting 50% weight on it with the walker and still using a wheelchair at work, mostly for speed but also because I can't walk THAT much in the walker yet. It's like doing dips constantly as you walk and when you weigh 230+ that wears you down. Here's a scooter update. I called up Kauffs today and spoke to someone in the main dispatch office in West Palm. I explained the situation, while trying my best not to tell them how much of an asshole I think they are. I was nice and so was she this time. As of today I was up to over $1,700 in charges. There was no way to avoid the lien, which she said the lien would prevent me from buying any vehicle or registering one. Yeah, that's a problem. So we spoke for a few more minutes. I said if we could work something out for a couple hundred, I could swing it soon but she said she couldn't go that low. She said she could do it for $400. So a few phone calls later and me kissing my financial cushion goodbye... *drumroll* I got her back! It was either spend $400 now or have to shell out $1,700 later for the lien. The driver I dealt with was the one who picked it up, he was curious to see what happened to me even lol. He said the guys there were fighting over who was going to buy it if I didn't come get it. Now, here's the funny part. IT. STARTED. RIGHT. UP!!! After I told him to move the kill switch of course. Yes, it started. We didn't even have to load it into my friends truck. Instead my friend drove it home and I followed in his truck! FYI the scooter has better pick up than a old Ford Ranger lol. So it's home, safe, mine. The only damage to it was the left mirror (stock) and the left bar end mirror I put on. Oh and some grass still stuck in the kickstand. Otherwise everything else works, lights (Even the LED Headlights still) and all. We fired it up a few times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Nope, it kicked right over every damn time. I'm pretty damn impressed. So when I'm able to, I'll find out what jet I left in it (I think I wrote it in here somewhere) and tune it up nice and steady. It is my 2nd mode of transportation. I swear to god I wanted to cry when we parked it on the patio. I had to thank my friend a hundred times for this. He declined free dinner, that's what you get when you have good friends of 14+ years. So anyways. I just got this thing home an hour ago and rushed (hobbled with the walker) back outside to take pics so I could show you guys the good news. Oh and the Xrays were a bonus lol. I can't wait to ride it again!!!!!

Glad you got a break... well the kind you wanted this time. Seriously, happy to hear the M1 is back, running, and it didn't cost as much as it could have. Hope your healing continues to progress well!

Thanks 2TDave, 90GTVert and niz76! I'm so happy to have it back and in good order too. It was bittersweet but at least now I don't have to worry about more costs. Other than future upgrades It's still going to be a while before I can go outside and work on both of them, even longer before I can ride probably too. Unless I can get some weights to keep me leaning towards my right leg so I don't have to use my left leg lol. Dammit I can't wait to ride again! Oh and Niz, good one lol. Now I want Ribs, dammit.

Ok so dont' shoot me. It looks like it's going to be many many weeks if not months before I can ride. Right now I have other priorities, my photography being one of them. I'm looking at upgrading my camera body, which would run the low low cost of $1699. That being said.
I'm actually considering selling off my scooter(s). Both the Wolf and the VX50, even though it's slightly in pieces right now but has so much friggin potential. I just don't have the means or the time or the physical ability to touch them and they're going to sit in my patio for ages, fading in the sun and collecting rain and dust.
Your thoughts guys?

I think you've had too much time to look at camera catalogs. Whatever you think is best for you and the scoots. Sitting in the elements isn't going to do them any favors and I believe in the past you've said the landlord didn't like them around all that much. Unfortunately you prob aren't going to get nearly what it's worth if you sell a scoot that's not operational. Keep us updated either way and with or without scoots you're welcome here.

Sadly I know I wouldn't get what I paid for them, especially considering the cost of getting the M1 back. But with the upgrades to it, I'd imagine it would help. I'm going to see how things play out. As for the VX, that's for an enthusiast to pick up for sure. Hah, trust me I always spend too much time looking at camera gear. You should see my Wishlist on B&H. I'd have to sell off a lot of scooters to balance that list out for sure. $30k worth in fact just to start lol. Trust me though, I'm going to be on two wheels again. I've been talking to my friend about his motorcycle restores. He restored Yamaha Enduro and now is working on an old Suzuki 850 he got for $100. It's a 4t with a wicked 4 barrel Mikuni carb on it. He's been asking me for advice, which is funny how his motorcycle is just 4 times my M1 lol. So yeah, I'm not going away from two wheels. We will see.
