Hi, I have a TGB Sunset 49cc 2stroke franco morini. I need to replace crankshaft, I screwed out and in the Vari nut as a normal non reverse thread, I believe it's gonna fall of, if anyone could help on telling me the steps to disassembly engine and get out the crank I would be infinitely thankful.

If the crank is going to be replaced and the variator nut/threads are stripped, cut it off with a cut off wheel on a Dremel. The rest of the teardown is like a Minarelli type engine,,look in the tech section for manuals(1E40QMB) and go from there,,you'll need a flywheel puller and a crankshaft pulling tool also,Be very careful installing the new crank,no hammering or pressing as it WILL mess up the runout!

Thank you for rour answer it is very helpful. I took the nut out couterclock with a impact gun, that is when I crossthreaded crank and nut, now I can tighten clockwise, is this safe? or just replace crank?

I doubt it will hold, but if it will torque down,it may be worth a try...

I would rather to tap and die the problem, to one smaller size. But I dont know if it would be a reliable final solutuon.

Are they reverse threads on a Morini? Never heard that. Yep!Left hand threads on the vari side..If you can run a die(rh thread) next size smaller on the crank, that should be a good repair, maybe loctite it too...

One size smaller, To thred back to reversthread, only I have to build a tool for turning the die in such reduced space. Thank you all again.
