Flip #6 $175 2012 GMW Jet Classic- a 4T Retro! Oh boy!

  I went and looked at this scoot weeks ago before I bought the Eton Beamer but they didn't have the title that day so I moved on. I can't really find any good 2t's with titles for the right price on CL at the moment so I went back to the house and rang the doorbell. The scoot was still for sale but now they've lowered the price to $175! They had the title on hand now too haha. They were glad to see me again and told me they just re-posted the ad today. Here it is:



Since I'd already looked at it weeks ago I knew it didn't need a new motor- just a new top end. The seller knew it needed a new top end too- not sure why they keep writing that it needs a new motor? Probably why it didn't sell haha. 
  The son had ran the engine dry of oil and seized it up. The dad used a crowbar and hammer to try to remove the top end and demolished it lol. I won't be able to use the stock head so I'll need a cylinder and head for it. I'm thinking one of those $30 BBK's and $30 head for sale on the forum here. Valleyscooters? I'll have to look him up...
  4t's are totally foreign to me and I didn't do much on the first 4t flip. Looks like I'll be getting a crash course this time!
The scoot seems to be in really good shape body wise. It's a 2012. Has a little rust here and there but should clean up nicely. This is my first retro flip so I hope it's not too difficult to sell when it's finished. As always, we shall see...

Thanks Katasroff! I was wondering if it was the same scoot you have, but the front end on this and in your avatar are a bit different? I was a bit surprised at the size of the handlebars on this thing. Like full size Harley bars!

Only the front part is different, and mine would fit on yours. There are a couple of different fronts for this scooter.

With the floor mounted tank, just make sure you slap on a Mikuni fuel pump and not one of those round cheap Chinese one.

I ordered this 50mm BBK from 02starrider on Ebay. Hope this thing doesn't have a weak crank!

Oh, boy- this tells a little more of the story... The seller never mentioned a BBK. Hmmm. I really hope this crank is ok. There's no slop in the crank so that's good.

It's a HESPA!!! Or a Varley? 

Dude that's friggin sweet man! Dave probably banged his head against the garage door when he saw that lol. But it is a 4t though. 

I like it. I ordered the Carb from 02Starrider, should be here shortly I hope. I'll let you know if it's worth the $30. I have the jet kit from PFS for it too so I'll be playing with that soon I'm sure. 

Did you remove the engine to get the top end off? I'm still nervous about doing mine. I don't know why though, I just don't want to blow it up lol. Plus I'm waiting to see about getting the head from John at Valley. Shit, I have to call him still. Ugh. I didn't know the BBK from 02 was that cheap! DAMN! Well maybe I'm not so afraid of melting the top end now lol.
