So, I have a nice little Wildfire brand scooter. I was going to figure out how to winterize it before it got cold and then the temperature dropped (I'm in Minnesota). I'm trying to figure out how best to winterize it at this point. I was going to follow these instructions, even bought the Startron stuff, but now the scooter won't start. www.scootrichmond.com/blog/winterization.htmlShould I still put the startron fluid in even if it's just going to sit? Is it best to just wait until spring or should I be trying to figure out how to get it started? Sorry if this is the wrong thread! Thank you for your help!

Battery might have died from the drop in temperatures. If you can try to charge up the battery and then you can still use the fuel stabilizer method. Another method you can do is drain the gas tank and fog it. I've never dun this method but my friends have on their motorcycles and they like it.

Thanks tiny. Actually I've got a trickle charger thing and have had that plugged in so I think the battery is good. It just won't turn over. Is there any danger in throwing a little of the fuel stabilizer in there even if it doesn't end up turning over? And should I fill it up all the way? I'm a little weary of trying to drain the gas tank as I've never done anything like that before and wouldn't no where to begin. And I don't have a heated garage or anything so it'd be in freezing temperatures.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes fill up the tank as much as you can to stop any condensation from forming in the tank. I never asked two or four stroke? Does it even try to turn over? Depending on how cold it got for your area maybe the fuel in the cylinder and the line froze.

Thanks Tiny! I'll fill it up. I think it's 4 stroke, I realize now I'm in the 2 stroke, but I just found the manual and it says 4 stroke. Should I move this over to that forum?
Right now it barely tries, it kinda chokes when I hit the start. I can try to kick start it, but want to be careful as I've cracked the kick start twice.
It's also going to possibly get above freezing this weekend so I'm hoping that'll help!

If it warms up give it a shot to see if it starts. If not leave it till spring when everything thaws out. The oil might of gotten too thick when the weather cooled down for the engine to crank. Good luck mate
