I have a used 2008 Adly Jet 50 and recently had brake problems, I checked the Brake Fluid Reservoir window and saw that it was dry and empty, so need to refill with DOT3 brake fluid. My question is, do I have to fully bleed the brake system or can I just open reservoir cylinder and add fluid? I am very low on funds so was hoping I could just top it off with new DOT3 fluid

If you add brake fluid at any point when the reservoir is empty you need to flush out the system or you will get air bubbles and no braking power.

Ah I see, so what tools will I need to bleed the system? Can I buy them at a regular Tool Supply store like Loews or Home Depot?

I like this "coke bottle method"...
I've used this method twice and it works great!

just locate the bleeder nipple, untighten it and stick on a 1/4 or 3/16 fuel line if you have any laying around or any other tube and point it to a cup and just bleed it while adding new fluid.
