Hey guys! I am planning on changing the oil pump on my Yamaha neos 1998 since it is smoking and bogging like crazy when I start it in the morning. It happens for about 10 - 15 sec. and then it drives. When driving there is 0 smoke and the smell of the exhaust is nothing like the other scooters.. I got this oil pump: www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p-Aerox_oil_pump_for_Minarelli_50cc_2T_engines-5558.aspxI hope I have no cable adjuster on mine. My question: Can someone explain me in detail how to bleed an oil pump. Pics or a video would be very much appreciated. P.S. I know that to get oil from the tank to the pump I need to unscrew the bleeding screw on the pump. I am more interested in how to get the oil to the carb.

You will be fine if you just bleed it as you said. You could put a couple capfulls of oil in the tank and ride a bit to mix it up before you change the pump. If there is a cable, you dont have to hook it up but remove it from the splitter if you can or at least tuck it away where it will not get hung on something.
From what you are describing, your check valve may be dirty, and stuck open. There is usually a valve on the carb where you connect the oil line that keeps gravity from causing oil to seep into your carb when the scooter is not running. My vino had a small check valve inline that went bad and caused the smoke on startup problem you are describing.

Thanks guys I will do exactly like that. And I will also check this valve, but I doubt its that, cuz I changed the carb and it does the same.

I've ran pre-mix in the gas tank and held the spring loaded pivot(on the oil pump) wide open (while the scoot idles) until oil reaches the end of the hose that goes to the carb and then drain the pre-mix (or dilute w/fresh fuel if there wasn't much in the tank), pop the hose onto the carb and good to go!
