What GPS apps is everyone using? What do you like and dislike about some of the GPS apps out there?
Right now I'm using Ulysses Speedometer app. It's ok I guess it's the only GPS app I've downloaded, but I like that fact that it has elevation, compass, track time, average, and max speed.

I use Ulysses also. I like it. I haven't tried any other speed apps but I guess that just means I'm satisfied with Ulysses...

I use Igo. It was preloaded on a 7 inch tablet meant to be a GPS primarily.

I don't use an APP but I use my wife's sports GPS it tracks running and cycling but works just fine for scooter duty. Only draw back is that to see full tracked speed distance and the lot need to view on computer as at moment it will only show distance traveled, total time plus top speed achieved or average speed.

NavFree-USA on android. I dont use it often, but it works well when I need it. Maps r accurate and save to sd card. Runs smooth on my phone. No popup ads

I use GPSSpeed scooter edition on my iPhone. Best app I've found in my search for gps logging. Does more than needed really. Gives you speed, top speed, treading speed, elevation, g meter, map, and heading. You can record your "runs" and check the data with graphs or a color coded map. It's been very useful for narrowing in on the perfect tune. Best of all to is the app is quite small at 6.5mb

With the Ulysses app have any of you had any strange speed readings? This morning when i got to work i checked my phone and apparently top speed was 81kmh or 50mph on a 50cc 2t? I did get a good run but 50mph - doubt it.

Mine clocked me at 51 last night, that's why I started this thread. I want to try a few different apps and see if the are similar readings or not.

I have tested it against our cars and it seems spot on, but yeah same for me i might try some different apps and see if i hit 50 again.

I don't own a smart phone so I use an actual Garmin GPS. I'm not sure that this is the case for smartphones, but with my GPS if I watch the live speed and the max speed displayed on the GPS from live readings it will come out accurate with other gauges and what I witnessed. If I try to use the saved trip log and let it calculate speed based on whatever points it recorded, then it will sometimes come up slower or faster than actual speed. So I saw and the live screen said max of I think 62MPH, but the re-calculated log said 70MPH. I don't know if perhaps the GPS calculates straight lines and not curvy roads when using a log or what the case is there.

One day my TomTom sent me in a loop in San Francisco, it told me to circle the block twice before continuing I despise SF as a place as it stands already I threw that piece of junk in the trash, bought a roadmap from the gas station and I have not had a navigation issue since. TomTom... what a peice of $h!t. Birds navigate better than us for years with nothing but the body and mind. GPS???

I don't know if perhaps the GPS calculates straight lines and not curvy roads when using a log or what the case is there. You are spot on here. Every second or couple of seconds a "point" is dropped and they are connected by straight lines. That can/will cut off corners in the logs. Some gps log points quickly enough for it to not matter. The program I'm using is fairly good about dropping points quickly. I've only had it cut off a downhill highspeed hairpin(my favorite corner) a few time. Here's the requested link
