Is it bad to leave a 50cc 139qmb moped sitting for a few weeks with out oil? I bought one in Kentucky while I was there and I couldn't get it to fit in my vehicle Lol. The guy I bought it from drained the oil because he said I need to change it. I won't be back in Kentucky until the 20th and it will be sitting with no oil will this cause any problems please help

Don't start it right away after you add oil. You need to hand crank it over a few times so the pump can start getting oil to the valves. I'd. Pull the sparky and remove the valve cover after hand cranking it then turn it intermittently with the starter until you see oil up at the valves. Put the valve cover back on then your sparky then see if it'll fire. :2cents:

Use the kick start and turn it over slowly. Feet work too, just don't kick it over hard for the purposes Clank mentioned.

Locking pliers on the kick start nub thing and just rotate them; Don't strip the pattern on the knob!

If you take the fan shroud off and remove the fan you can turn the flywheel by hand. There's an arrow indicating which direction the engine rotates. Typically clockwise.

You can pull the spark plug and just use the starter it won't hurt the engine at all. Just make sure your getting oil to the top end before you put the plug back and start the scoot. My scoot (Dusty) sat for almost 9 years with no oil in it and its fine i just pulled the valve cover and made sure there was oil being pumped through to the valves.
