hey man, thanks a million.. cool deal.... actually, yeah i have.. i did my best to measure 1mm up, 1mm out on each side. of course my 1st time measurements werent perfect, so i tried to stay under my line...lol.. when looking in i should be close anyway.. tried to keep the slight curve on the bottom half of the port toward the header joint.. of course i could not find a "flex hone", to aid in my efforts to chamfer all the ports. i will have to return inside again...lol.. could i not "debur",for lack of better term, all the ports. the all have a rough cast look. getting a degree wheel printed so maybe i can learn and port ALL of em to the max....lmao

hey man, thanks... well, i pht hwr back together last night. started on the 2nd kick...wooo hooo...lmao... anyway, the last few days, my odle has absolutely sucked.. i can lean scoot to one side, itll die, lean the other way rpms jump up.. i just did 1 plug chop. pure white again.. could the porting lean it out like that??.(temps have dropped also, was good and dark brown, the rich side). i guess ill upjet again. already running a .965 jet. how will i know when carb is maxed out?(non removable pilot jet). keep in mind i STILL have that dam modded oem pipe on.. also it is windy today but i dont think i could even tell a difference with the porting..W.T.H? wheres my 3-4mph?..i was expecting a bigger difference for sure.. any ideas on carb would be great..

You ren't gonna gain much if you are out of tune now. Port work can definitely affect your state of tune. You would also be more likely to see gains with a tuned pipe since these mods are mostly for increasing high RPM power. If leaning from side to side changes your idle, I'd check float height or just stop leaning it at idle. lol You'll know when you are at your limits with the stock carb and it's pilot jet when you can't get it to idle well no matter how you adjust the mixture.

hey 90gt, thanks for the reply.. lmao, yeah, i guess NOT leaning it may help huh.....i was thinking this started when i had put the s9 rear shock on last week. i didnt even think about it changing the float any. how do i know if it even needs adjusting?. the idle is pretty bad lately, was contributing to the cooler weather tho.. cant get a constant idle either.. well i guess i REALLY NEED my technigas pipe back on then huh?.. (i know the modded took away 4mph anyway). well i guess i did it semi correct since it didnt blow this a.m. here in these hills i kept having to UPJET instead of downjet with cooler temps like other ppl in these forums..

Usually the float sits about parallel with the base of the carburetor when you hold it upside down. Sometimes service manuals will give you a measurement to aim for. Also make sure the float needle and seat are clean and in good shape if you are in that far already. If you are leaning the bike very far, I don't really think it's an issue. Pretty normal. If you can't straighten your idle out then it may be worth checking for that reason. You are probably already well aware of this, but never set your idle when the scoot is cold. Always let it warm up first.

if i rest it over on the kickstand is enough to shoot rpms up, leaned to right, it goes down to the point of stalling. yeah, imma try and upjet.. so i will check out the float, i knew back in the day, you adjust your float by bending the seat..i do hope imma upjet instead of suppose to DOWN jet. these dang ol' mtns. mess with ya...lmao... never have really understood the temps for jetting. ppl in greensboro will downjet this time of year, i had to upjet last time i tried..

You will get it figured out. I always richen the mix as the temps drop.

Generally it's richer for lower temps and/or lower elevation and leaner for higher temps and/or higher elevation.
