Installed the HIT clutch today. There is one thing I am not sure about is in the 3rd image as you can see there are approx. 2mm of the clutch meat standing outside of the clutch bell. That is not suppose to be like that right? So I might need an after market bell to get the 100% grip power right? Took her for a very short spin up and down the road in front of my house and the clutch seems to do her job well. I installed the clutch with the red pillow springs (8.5kg) which are the strongest before removing them completely (9.2kg) and with the blue clutch springs which are, according manual 12kg and the weakest springs. I haven't really tested her hardcore yet but I think she engages at around 6000 rpms so I cannot imagine at what rpms she would engage when using the strongest springs (39kg!) I also checked the spark plug after that short ride. (I know should check after WOT) Looks very rich but that could also be the result of putting way too much oil into the tank. I don't want to jump to conclusions here yet, soon I will run out of fuel and then I will be able to premix right for the first time. Then I will do another check after a few WOT runs. I also reduced the idle rpms to 1500-1600 rpms and she stays nice and steady there.

How is the thickness of that clutch compaired to your original? I checked both of mine and they sit on all the way. They are also larger at 107mm and 112mm. If you have clearance you might be able to file down the hub that the bell mounts with so it will slide on further. I don't think I would be overly concerned. I would look into a longer belt. Looks like your leaving some takeoff speed behind with the belt sitting that far into the rear pulley.

ryan_ottThe HIT clutch has some sort of offset there where the bell sits on. I think they made this so that the bell wouldn't touch the pillow springs. The belt sits perfectly outside when I took the picture was just installing the clutch and the belt had some slack at that moment so that I could put the clutch back on the rear gear thing.

I see. If you were to get another clutch bell measure it first to see if it would work better but really I don't know if it would make all that much difference. Maybe shim the clutch on the torque driver to space that out??

Hi
I think I made a poor choice. I received my YSS 220-250 mono pro X shock. I thought it was height adjustable but it is 250mm between mounting points. The old one is 220. I found it hard to wedge into place and when the scoot is on the centre stand the back wheel is still touching the ground.. I am going to have to check if anything is touching the under seat tub such as the carb. I should have bought the next size down I guess.

You might be able to grind down the center part of the clutch bell? You'd have to be pretty precise about it though I would think.

Are you sure you can't change the height of the spring? It says 220-250 that would make one think that you can change the height. Anything over 230mm will make the rear wheel touch the ground. I had a 240 a while back and the rear tire was touching.

I know right, I thought the same thing with the 220-250 but no it only have the compression adjustment. Anyway lie I said I will have to just make sure that it does not fowl on anything under the seat. I would hate for it to be putting tension the the throttle and when I start it up it takes off because the wheel is on the ground. Any chance it it will shorten when it breaks in.

The shock might settle a little but I wouldn't expect for very much.

My DMP clutch + bell combo had exactly the same!!! I milled a few mm's from the splines off inside the bellhousing. By doing so the bell would hit the clutch. Put the clutch in a lathe and also milled a little bit from the outside of clutch itself. So now the bell falls completely over the clutch without hitting anything... I'll try to find some pics...I remember making pics of it
