I have a 2014 Kymco Agility 50. I stored it inside for winter break for 3 weeks and when I tried to start it it was dead. I made the mistake of jumping it with a car AND i turned my car on.
The scooter will turn on, but only when my jumper cables are connected. It will run and once I removed the cables I tried to drive it but it died.
What's my next step?

Definitely replace battery if wont hold a charge etc. Then make sure charging system is ok (stator regulator etc) or if your scoot uses DC cdi , wont run without a good battery. Just tossing some ideas out there If im correct your scooter uses a DC fired ignition & a properly charged battery is necessary to run. Buy or borrow a charger suitable for your battery ,charge it & see if it helps. Got to be careful jumping from a car due to a cars charging system is way more powerful then your scooters.

I read somewhere that it could have fried the electrical circuit. Is this likely?

Its possible , but first get a good/charged battery in your scoot & try it out it may be fine . The charging system in your scooter has to work extra hard on a flat/discharged battery & doesnt allow enough power to keep engine running if ignition system is operated By DC voltage. That is why engine died after removing booster cables .Hope this helps?

I think you're getting good advice already, so I just wanted to say welcome to the forum!

Yep- Looks like these boys are giving you good advice The scoots that use the DC CDI system like yours rely heavily on a good working battery. Sounds like everything is working ok when you have it hooked up with jumper cables so you probably didn't damage any of the electrical system. That's good news! The other good news is a new battery is a pretty easy fix and should only cost you around $50! Welcome to the forum. Lots of good people here to help out

It should run without a battery if you remove it and kick start it or hook the jumpers to the wires directly without the battery. I don't advise driving it like that cause the horn and blinkers won't work right and the lights will be dim at idle and get brighter with gas but taking the battery out of the equation will tell you whether or not you fried the stator. If you have a voltage tester you can hook it to the battery leads with the engine running to see if it's charging. You should get 12.5-13.5VDC at idle and 13-14.5 while revving the engine.

you sent too many amps into the battery and it is probably a lost cause now. you may have damaged the stator so it is not sending juice which would explain it dying after cables disconnected. in the olden days we tested car alternators by disconnecting the negative wire from the battery and if the car stalled the alternator was bad.

Thanks for all the input guys! The scooter kept running when I disconnected the jumper cables and I let it run like that for a bit but when I tried to drive it it died. So I think it's a good sign that it kept running once I disconnected the cables.
I don't have a battery charger or tester so I'm going to get it tested today and will probably end up getting a new battery and hopefully that fixes it!

I did the same thing with my old tao tao thunder I fried the voltage regulator and was blowing bulbs left and right

I don't want to burst your bubble but I am in serious doubt that the issue has anything to do with the battery but here's a test:
Get it running at idle and disconnect the battery. It should stay running and rev up like normal. If it still dies when you give it gas then it's a fuel system issue most likely. (Dirty carburetor, old/bad gas, valves) If the gas smells horrible and looks like pee, that can cause the same symptom you are having.
Have you ever checked and adjusted the valves?

Dc fired ignition needs good dc voltage before going further down the trouble shooting trail.
