SOLD!! Traded for a mint condition, vinyl wrapped e-scoot. Haha sorry fellas, this deal gets a little confusing, but let me start off by showing you the scoot: It's a Blue Vento Triton clone scoot that I've been trying to buy for well over a month now! Seems every time I call I can't get in contact with the actual seller and someone on the phone tells me to call back later in the day. I typically have scoot A.D.D. when it comes time to buy my next project so I usually move on and end up buying a different scoot. Tonight I needed to purchase a scoot for my return trip from St. Pete and somehow things fell into place. Good thing I stored the phone # in my phone a while back because the sellers CL ad is expired!
It's a bit rough here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. This little guy seems to like it!
This is a Triton clone and a name I've never heard before: "GMI 107"...
It has the QJ1e40qmb engine. This scoot was originally for sale for $300 and the CL ad stated that it didn't run and needed a new cylinder. The pics weren't that great in the CL ad but I was a bit disappointed when I arrived. I thought this scoot was going to be in better condition. I stood there and checked out the scoot while the guy tried and tried to start it with the e-start and finally killed the battery. At least I don't have to buy a battery for this one!
I negotiated a price of $200 for this kinda rough non-runner and the fella headed up to the apartment to fetch the title... I thought it was a bit strange that the guy was trying so hard to start it since the ad said it needed the cylinder but they didn't seem to speak english very well so I didn't think too much about it. I was really surprised at what happened next; the young looking girl that was standing there the whole time- she looked to be about sixteen or seventeen- grabbed the scoot, gave it a handful of throttle, kicked the crap out of the kickstart and fired it up! This scoot does run! Glad we agreed on the price before that happened lol.
So, you may be a bit confused as to why I started this flip thread saying this scoot is sold already and it is. I got (back) into contact with an old friend recently after not seeing him for nearly a year. He's a great old friend of mine and you might remember a pic I posted a while back regarding vinyl wrapping scoots; The electric "lightning bike!" Well, we kinda built that electric scoot together-although he did all that vinyl wrapping himself- I was saddened to hear that the electric scoot quit running a while back and is just sitting in his shed. Such a cool little scoot to rot away! (My old orange e-scoot with the knobby dirt bike tires is in his shed too so maybe we'll see that one running in the not-so-distant-future )
I let him ride the red Roketa AIR flip scoot and he really liked it and mentioned he'd like to move away from his little electric scoot and get a gas 49cc scooter. He basically tried to give me the lightning bike for free but I said "No way!" I of course concocted a plan where we could both win and told him I'd put the $$ needed into fixing the e-lightning-bike and get it sold. I sold my e-bike for $600 a little over a year ago so I told him I could easily find him a good gas scoot for less than that and keep the profit for my time invested. I had just the scoot in mind for him- this Vento Triton clone! So that's the story here haha. A bit confusing I know- I paid $200 for this scoot and he basically bought it from me with his e-scoot. My old friend is a retired military veteran- a Master Sergeant- and I want to do a nice job on this scoot for him! So, this scoot is bought and paid for already, and I haven't even done any work to it yet. Stay tuned and see how it turns out for him
P.S.- In addition to letting him ride the red Roketa AIR 49cc, I finally cajoled him into riding my blue 90cc Roketa AIR and he made it very clear that he did not want a stock 49cc 2t now. He wants a modified screamer! hehehe. Well, I do have the 72cc Athena BBK sitting on the shelf. I'll just add it to his tab...
