A spark plug socket is ideal for plugs, but you can use a deep 5/8" or 16mm socket.
Sounds like the batt replacement is needed if you want to use e-start.
The hard starting and running IMO is normal in cold weather. When it's much below 50F I have to babysit the scooter for the first couple of minutes... or set the idle speed higher than I'd like so it stays running.

I got my new battery in and it fits great. Starts up right away. A problem I'm having now though, is if I slow down or am at a stop for too long. It stops running. Does that have something to do with the idle speeds? It hasn't become a serious issue because it starts right back up again, but for it to be doing that in the first place is worrying. And I don't like it. I did see a spark plug socket at Auto Zone, I'll be sure to grab it. Do I have to adjust anything to the spark plug itself? I think I'm also finding myself going open throttle a lot to keep up.. because again if I go too easy it just cuts out. I'm not to sure on what to do. Thank you for the help

The carb is sealed I believe.. I do not have the tools you used in your videos to unseal it, so I can't get to the mixture.
But I'll try. Oh boy this is becoming quite the conundrum
When I get the chance again I'll see what I can do, it started to rain. I'll let you know what happens.

the gy6 engines hate the cold, it can take a while before it stays running, my old taotao even when it was brand new took 15 min to warm up when it was cold out.
