Scoot wont rev up, I recently installed new bbk, and since I got spark back and ran the scoot, itll go decently fine at about 3/8 throttle, but anything after that it doesnt rev up anymore, bogs, cuts off, I did stand up and bounce the scoot while holdin throttle a little bit anf then it just took off, almost out from under me. I did upjet to 105. Got some stupid open air filter on there as my stock wouldnt fit with my new shock. Just looking for answers & problem possibilities

May I add, I did not have tbe fan shround on and air flowin out of the exhaust was a bit hotter than before. May that be the reason? Although it does this from the very beginning of startup

Sounds like its running lean. In my experience I've ended up around a 120 MJ with stock carb and free-flow filter. Of course, it's not a good idea to take someones suggestion on a MJ and just go with it... tuning is necessary. You can quickly- very quickly overheat your engine and cause real damage running it without the cooling shrouds in place, even for a short ride.

I also did this mod, but some dumbass kid broke it as I left it out side so the paint would dry up. So I gotta start all over minus the painting part haha

Ended up having to put a smaller jet in. Still only hitting about 25-30mph though with alot more potential. Keeps soft seizing as well.

If the fan and shrouds are not installed you prob will seize no matter how well it's in tune.

If the fan and shrouds are not installed you prob will seize no matter how well it's in tune. The fan and shrouds were first thing put back on today before I touched the carbs. I went out and bought a couple new spark plugs. Tried starting it up again after install, when the starter turns over, the exhaust shoots out a shot of air, and sounds like you pushed in the valve stem on a tire for a split second. Heard a rattling comin from the muffler before I decided to walk her home. Any ideas?

The oil tank is leaking from where the oil level senser goes into the tank, I did replace the line that goes from the oil pump to the carb. I got a used muffler from a buddy of mine tonight, gonna clean it up and throw it on tomorrow as I think my muffler was clogged.
@niz, it would not rev up at all with the big jets in there and then when I put the stock jet back in, it would rev up quite a bit. Ill play with the MJ again tomorrow after the muffler is on.

Did you put the piston in with the arrow pointing to the exhaust? If so double check you don't have any air leaks. What are you running for an air filter?

It's very common for the tanks to leak at the sensor. You can try wrapping the sensor in Teflon tape or clean it up and rtv it in. Or for a sure fire fix.... Wait here it is.... Premix
