If it runs well at 60psi, your compression tester is not sealing or faulty.

It was a Harbor freight cheapy. Probably faulty as you said. Scoot runs great and can definitely feel the power increase from the 50 to 52mm kit, in combination with the big valve head. I have 8g rollers in, 1500 contra and clutch springs and it stays around 8000 rpm through 45 mph or so, starts creeping towards 8600+ once I hit 48 MPH though. Any recommendation on weights or springs to take advantage of the power but not rev so high?

Heavier weights or a softer 1000RPM contra spring. Cna't tell you exactly what you need, but that's the direction to go. Not sure how much speed you'll really get out of it this way, because it sounds like it runs out of gearing. Maybe the softer spring/heavier rollers will allow the belt to travel slightly more, but you'll probably need to upgear in order to keep RPM lower at higher speeds.

Tried a 1000 contra and it took RPMs down to 7500. As I got to top speed it would go to 8000 but then drop to 7500 at top end. I'm happy with that! Thanks for the help. I've heard so much about 52mm bbk's killing scooters, I want to try and prove that with some care it can last. 8500 - 9000 RPMs seems like it would burn out the engine quick. Thanks again!!

I'm currently running a 50mm BBK with big valve head, A9 Cam with 6g rollers and a 1k contra spring. I'm about 192lbs. With this setup for me, If I give it WOT at standstill and take off, I'm peaking at around 9k rpms. Looks like 7g is going to be about right for me. 8g rollers were just slightly too heavy. They worked fine and kept my peak rpms around 8k but I want just a little bit more..
