IT LIVES!!!!
so that harness apparently was the problem. Short somewhere I couldn't find. So I bought a used harness off the vortex (vw forum) for $100. As opposed to $780 for a new one... It works great! But I forgot to ask if it was a manual or automatic harness, and guess what? I got an automatic harness...doh. But I made it work, pretty easy actually. Literally "almost" plug and play. Just a couple things different. Still have to splice in my reverse lights lol. But it's still running rich at idle. Which annoys me. I thought the new o2 harness would have solved that. So THAT is either my AFR gauge needs to be recalibrated, or my tune is off. W/e. It runs again. I'll figure that out later.

So, she died again. I'm fed up with it. I already made a partout thread on the good ol vwvortex. I can hit the unlock button on my key fob and my windshield wipers will start moving...w/e. I'm done. Scoots is gonna get all the attention again! Stroker crank here I come. I'll probably buy a 20th GTI or a GLI with the partout money.

I had a Nissan 240 that acted the same headlight but no tail, hit signals and wipers move. All sorts of gremlins Turned out to be multi function switch. |

I had a 79 rabbit we got new that had gremlins sold it and the guy put a new fuse block in it and cured it

Yeah I've had this car for about 8 years now and I'm just done with it. I don't want to put a new anything else on it. Tired of spending money on it just to have it break down again in a couple of months. It literally lasted a week this time between break downs. I found a nice looking gti vr6 that's been rebuilt for $3900. I'm sure I can get that much in parts from my part out. Probably more. We shall see.

So I changed my mind again. I'm gonna keep it...I just can't bring myself to part it out. Lol. I love it and I hate it. I have the scooter as a daily so w/e. I'm sure its a relay or a fuse somewhere. I'll track it down. No more go fast parts for a while. Just maintenance to make it reliable.
