You might need to check your valve clearance. Make sure the valves aren't touching the piston. Sounds kinda loud.

Holy sh%& I just checked the valves and the one on the bottom with the e next to it was all the way loose. I could stick my whole pinkie in where the .004 feeler gauge should barely fit. I guess I didn't tighten it all the way yesterday. Or maybe going down a hill too fast caused it?

Is it running good now? Make sure nothing was damaged. Is the lock nut still there? The last thing you want to do is start that engine with a nut floating around somewhere in the crank-case. THEN you would have a major issue.

It might help to print a checklist when doing maintenance. This way you make sure don't miss anything. I have done a checklist ever since I installed a BBK on a cool sport and forgot to tighten the same nut. The nut came off and went down in the crank case. I had to pull the entire engine apart to get that nut. My guide for the timing chain was chewed up and the chain broke. Not a fun fix, especially since it was MY fault. I almost did the same thing with my current bike because I failed to use my checklist. "I got this" is probably not a good mind-set when disassembling an engine. I learned that the hard way. lol.

New scooter, new problems. I would keep this one since you practically got all of the bugs out.
Just my 2cents.

I'm with Katastroph on this. Probably better off keeping it and using the money you intend to buy a new one with to fix this one up real nice. It's your decision though.

It seems as if my mixture screw on the side of the carb isn't doing anything no matter how many times or which way I turn it. Scooter is running fine at high speed but idle and low speed is kinda sluggish. I tried following the PDI video but the mixture screw isn't effecting how it idles

Did you try starting the bike and then tightening the screw all the way in? That should cut the bike off. You might have a problem with the carburetor if that doesn't do anything.
