Recently I took out the stock speedometer and replaced mine with the Trail Tech Vapor and I noticed that the headlight as well as passing light and high beam refuses to brighten up when the RPM goes above 0.
It remains dim as if I'm still idling.
Can anyone help me with this as to how to reroute the wiring so it works again without having to reinstall the stock speedometer?
I called Kymco and I was told:
White - Headlight Blue - high beam Green - Ground.
Thanks

I would multimeter the three wires at the headlight to make sure wiich ones are positive and ground...!!!! It's simple to check..... But it soUnds like you have one crossed to me.!!!!!

Ok that will make it ezier!!! Test then when the bike is idling.... You should have ac voltage on one of them and a ground and when you flip your high beam switch power will be on the other one!!!

Mm?? Wait first do you have a multimeter? And know how to use it?? If so then attaché your black probe to the frame someplace, set the meter to ACV then poke the red probe in each wire/plug at the headlight as the bike is idling and take note of each color wire and the voltage.!!! Then flip your high/low beam switch and test each wire again..... I'm ignorant to electrical as well!!!!

I was told by kymco that I'll need to reroute the wire somehow if I'm not using the stock speedometer... I think the wire needs to know when I'm idling and when I'm in motion. Currently it thinks I'm idling all the time.

So Kymco has a sensor in the speedo that controls headlight voltage with speed changes??If so we'll need to look into the service manual/wiring diagram and see how to 'fool' the sensor..Another QAD(quick and dirty) option is reinstall the speedo, paint over is and install the Vapor on top of it...

If you can help me with this, it'd be great as I can't ride at night as is. THe service manual I found on the forum is for the 4T, is it the same as 2T though?
