I'm leaning towards it being the clutch springs, the torque spring was brand new when I built the engine but the clutch springs are possibly ancient as I recovered them out of the clutch of the Sepia ZZ I parted out. There an odd size spring too, so I'm still thinking of grabbing a Motorforce Evolution 110mm clutch, it's only a cheapie but it's at least adjustable and uses standard Jog size springs by the look of it. Not 100% on what brand the shock is, I was hooked up with it by an absolute epic guy from a local car club, thanks again Callum! Oh and since I know you lurk here man, start up a thread on Gary! Should be a good upgrade from the worn out old stock shock I've got on the rear atm, especially since I've already got the decent AN125 gas shocks on the front.

Cleaned out the Green slime from inside the carb, drained the very stale premix gas, drained the old self mix oil, pumped up the tyres, fresh gas and oil and went for a test ride. Soooo much smoke for the first 5 minutes!!
Goes ok, no idea on speed but it's not fast! Pretty sure it's the CVT holding it back, seems to run well, just doesn't wind out like I'd expect.
Going to fit my Let's old carb, Kitaco over range variatior and a new drive belt etc, should be a decent upgrade from the SJ50QT for Sandy.

Gotta rub in those greyed out plastic fairing bits with linseed oil. Brings back the original deep dark color.

I used shoe polish on my black Let's, will give linseed oil a go on this one. GPS showed a top speed of 45k, so I figured I'd have a nose at the CVT. It was instantly obvious that someone had been inside before me, all the cover bolts are different then the crank nut was a dead give away Variatior face leaves a bit to be desired And yeah that can't be good for performance Only 3 to be found! Going to raid my parts pile tomorrow and see what I can do.

Parts stash raided First thing to go on was the Kitaco variator Can see how much bigger it is. Also chucked on a good condition kevlar banded belt and my stock Let's II clutch with 1500rpm springs. The stock heat shield was melting off. Also installed new front wheel bearings, speedo cable, spark plug, rear brake cable and air filter element. Not there yet, but it's a lot closer than it was! This has a 75mj in it, pretty sure my JDM Let's came with a 77 or 80, so will swap that out and keep playing. Edit: forgot I'd given all my small jets away to a mate that's also playing with an AZ50 engine, so I've only got the 75 and an 88 to play with for now

Yeah way too long! Been super busy with my business and trying to keep the old work van running, found I had no time to work on the scooters as much as I wanted to! Bug has bitten again now though! Pulled the Let's out of it's dusty tomb, robbed the battery out of the SJ50, lots of hand choked cranking and it burst back into life! A few decent wheelies later and I remember it needs either a clutch or something as it looses bite pretty quick. Really needs a wash!

Very similar size to tsimi 's Jogs, think there actually slightly shorter wheel base and a touch lighter. The SJ50QT on the right though is longer and a fair bit heavier, it's a 2 seater and it's the old Suzuki style frame with the under seat bin being part of the frame. So this afternoon I finally got around to buying a new battery for the Let's as well as some rego for both the Let's and AZ. My wife and I decided to take them out for a bit of a run around town this evening, first 15 minutes went well, stopped and got some gas and the blue one cut out as Sandy slowed down to go to the pump. Took a fair bit to get it started again but it fired up and we set off and made it a couple blocks down the road... That could have gone better, it appeared to be seized solid! I'm 85kg and could stand on the kickstarter without it moving. At least with all the mucking around wit hthe Let's in the past it only took 10 minutes for Aaron and I to get it to this point Whipped the head off, not looking good! But I did notice the piston seemed free... Cylinder slide off freely Yum... Check out the colour of the big end! Big end was locked solid, a good squirt of WD-40 freed it up again, but still wouldn't run it again Gudgeon has seen some heat too. So went over WTF has caused it. Oil in tank? Yeap 1/2 full of decent total oil. Oil at carb? Yeah the slide was oily feeling, bit of visible red oil. Oil pump drive gear shredded like they like doing? Nope, is in near perfect condition! *Wait visible red oil?? Total is blue!* So yeah figured the pump must be dead, started pulling lines off to further investigate it and found this completely blocking the prepump filter F%&K!!! So now do I just slap together my original Let's engine that has a broken case meaning it's electric start only? OR do I do what my son has suggested I order a Top Racing crank, Athena HPR Racing cylinder kit and 19mm+ carb etc to build a new engine for the Let's and upgrade Sandy to my Malossi sport kitted 70cc engine...

No brainer. Order the kit. It's a nice looking scooter. Even nicer looking when it's fast. Go pre-mix first. Your gonna need it anyway when that new kit revs past 10,000.

Here in this forum you'll get only one answer, "get the kit". We are all thriving for more power here.

Plan of attack right now is to tidy up my old Let's 50cc engine and throw that into the blue AZ just to get it running quickly.
Then the cases from the AZ engine will be getting built up as time and money allow, looks like the Athena HPR kit is going to be the best available that fits both my engine and budget! Top Racing is the only after-market crank for my engine, so theres not a lot of choice there. Yasuni do/did a C16 for Morini, I'm just not having much luck finding one.
Stripped down the oil pump from the seized engine tonight, it's in perfect working condition, so yeah it was just that clogged prefilter that killed this engine.

Didn't get as much done tonight as I'd have liked. Picked up my old Let's engine, gave it a quick hone, new rings, new gaskets, cleaned out oil pump. Should have it ready to go tomorrow night if I get a free hour. Might take it down tomorrow and see if I can get the split in the kickstarter boss welded up so it's not electric start only. Also about to order a new clutch for my Let's, 110mm clutch should play nicely with a 112mm bell right? Only option I'm finding listed for Suzuki is the 112mm bell.
