stock 49cc rebuild, new piston and rings, honed cylinder. new seals and rebuild bottom end. done a leak down test, only part that was foaming was where i was supposed to be clamping it down at, the manifold spigot and the exhaust port. i had the exhaust over top of it trying to hold it down, but it was, barely foaming. the intake manifold i had used paper for my gasket before after i messed up the o-ring and i see that i might of been getting some leaks there cause it was foaming a little with the paper gasket i was trying to use to clamp off the manifold off with.
i sprayed my entire manifold down with soapy water, and the oil pump plug, everywhere around the bike, and when i pumped it up, it woud hold 7ounds of air for like 3 minutes before itd go down to 4 from the 2 places i could block it off at but you could see the bubbles. there was no leaks anywhere. i stripped the case down. i checked both the crack seals. nothing was coming out from around there.
i have stripped all 4 of my manifold bolts, but i did use thread inserts in them. one the one with the longest bolt, i got the not straightest. but they all go in, with ony that bolt, kind of hitting at i tightened down on it and im able to get it tight. all the way with everything clamped down. on this motor, its the bottom left bolt that uses the longest bolt on the stock manifold. its the not straightest. anyway most of the time i use different manifolds that use short bolts on each hole instead. anyway after i found out my paper gasket i was using for the manifold to spacer gasket was leaking, i decided to switch over to my big manifold. it uses rubber spigot for the carburetor connection. since my whole motor wasnt leaking. and i usualy do tighten down all the way first, that one bolt that isnt the straightest, down tightest the first, i thought id use my other manifold and carb to set my motor up with.
well, i tighten on my manifold. and using the thread inserts, i put a little extra pull on the bolts after using the torque wrench. it passed, the leak down test. i also put a suction on the tube i used from the spark plug hole, and capped it off, and it held about the same vacuum for the one minute i held my finger over it. no big vacuum leaks either, that i noticed.
anyway. so, its the stock 49cc top end. rebuild new piston rings and rehoned cylinder. the exhaust is a big free flow exhaust. 2 stroke honda elite 2001. the air filter is uni, and im using a big koso type manifold on it, with has 2 big petals for reed cages, like a 4 way petal reed cage, but this just has 2 big flapper reeds. its a 21mm dellorto racing carb. and im using a 37pilot jet and a 88 main jet, with a w7 needle on the 3rd clip down.
i cant figure out whats going on here. whats it cutting out on? herese a video, vid.me/TVrXvid.me/TVrX
