If this is in the wrong forum my apologies and please feel free to move it. I am in the process of rebuilding a Fantom 50 QMBbased scooter and have run into a snag. I can rebuild anything when it comes to mechanical issues but wiring makes me want to hang myself. That being said... I have fixed all the wiring issues with the scoot up to this point but I am STUMPED right now. The ignition switch works as far as providing the ability to start the scoot. Headlights, Parking Lights, Brake Lights, directionals all work perfectly. The scooter can be started with the start button but cannot be shut off with the key switch. My FIL mentioned something about having an issue with the horn (Fixed) and maybe the scooter having an alarm he may have have cut out SMFH (Hey he's 79 now Lol) I have spent a fair amount of time searching this issue but unfortunately most of the pictures in most of the threads on other forums are now just bad links. I have attached an image of what I think is the alarm pig tail as well as another 2 wire pigtail that I cannot figure out what it does. The melted connector is the result of me not seeing it laying up against the ballast resistors. Before I buy an ignition switch set I wanted some input from you guys. I don't think the switch is bad. ANY help is appreciated!

Yes there is a jumper wire that is supposed to be attached to that if no alarm is installed. Find a local scooter shop and ask them if they have the jumper. I wish that I could tell you the two wires that need to be jumped, but I just cant remember. But many members on here have one and just don't realize it. If the scoot was built after 2008 and they don't have an alarm, they have the pigtail on their scoot. Maybe one can look for you? Otherwise, just ask a local scooter shop for one.

You need this plug. Or, you can make your own jumper if you can see which way this mounts to your harness?

Spaz, Thanks for the reply. I have that pigtail jumper. The issue is that when I plug it into alarm harness it kills the scooter. The wires in mine currently jump the Bl/W wire to green. I'm assuming I have to move the pin just need to figure out the wire. I may try the pin position that's in your pic.

Spaz I CANNOT thank you enough lol! Went outside, grabbed the meter and the picture of your pigtail and in about 5 minutes had the scoot fixed! Found the pink wire in the harness went to ground with the key based off your picture. Moved the jumper in my pigtail, fired it up and BAM! Turns off with the key now! You rock! Now I can spend the day sanding, priming and painting body panels!

That's weird that someone would move the wires around in the pigtail that you have. Anyway, glad that it help you out

It is a bit strange but than again it's my FIL, great guy but is not as mechanical or savvy as he thinks lol. He may have moved it troubleshooting and never moved it back.
