I saw this on another forum for motorcycles.. However I have been busy working a new job, which is why I hangout here less now But on the brightside this job is close enough to home to commute on a scoot. So I been taking The Elite to work for the past couple of weeks. I cant wait to get the Yamaha "Zog" runnin' so i can commute that one as well. Well anyways... If you rode a scoot to work today bump this thread, and maybe include the Highlight of your commute, if there was one. Ride safe and always wear the skid lid!!

Well, Bump. I rode to work today. Almost got hit twice on my way in to work. One lady almost changed lanes into me, the other was making a left and jumped out in front of me and just stayed there while traffic was clearing, I had to slam on the brakes to prevent from T-boning the dumb B!^%&

I think I understand the problem; Most drivers see a scooter and naturally think of a slow moving (4 stroke) object, covering 40 feet in about three and a half minutes. Sometimes taking 6 minutes if the driver of said scooter weighs over 90 lbs. When your fast moving (2T) scooter is thrown at them, they just don't know how to react. The poor lady probably thought she had close to a half an hour to get out of your way! I think that your experience today should be a wake-up call for all 4-T riders to upgrade so that the rest of society will stop looking at scooters like slow jokes! Just sayin Glad that you're okay and that I could make a little joke out of the situation

You know I drive everyday to work with one of my Scooters. (Nice weather = red Jog / Bad weather = silver Jog) Therefore, BUMP! Yeah, be careful at night people just see one light and tend to think "ah it's just a slow Scooter or Bike" then they make their turn and cut your road off. I had a couple situations where I was WOT and the , , just made a turn from the opposite side and cut right in front of me. Since then I always slow down a bit and have my fingers ready on the breaks just in case.

I scooter in on my jog.47 degrees this am, not too bad. My bike has been running weird since I.last rode it in the rain so I decided to pull over and take off my air box. Runs like a top now, guess I should clean my filter..

Now that I have my scoot back I intend to commute on it when plausible. I don't get cold very easily so I might be able to commute on most days but I have a bus station within about half a mile so if the roads/traffic are dicey I have a backup until I get something more substantial. Distance isn't going to be too bad thoguh - should be less than 10 miles for either the job I am probably starting in 10 days or the backup one I am interviewing for.

I used to ride my scoot to work everyday rain or shine but now I have a company trucck. Yesterday I took my scoot on a pretty long couple hour round trip and it ran fantastic! I've been lucky and haven't had too much trouble with traffic but I'm usually in the fast lane!

Florida winters are brutal...I rode to work fully geared up. Didn't sweat at all plus the A/C actually shuts off now.

On the way home from work today i gave a sportbike rider a nice suprise coming off the stop light. lol of course he caught up and passed me, but at the next patch of traffic i split through some really tight spots and showed him what commuting on the Elite is all about!
