This is baffling me. This tgb r50x had a 75 main in it, dellorto clone, small malossi filter, and tecnigas pipe. Naraku 47mm cylinder and piston. Head was ticking on the piston, so I doubled up the head gasket due to lack of base gaskets. Compression still above 130. I rode, rather relentless, across town in the late afternoon with no issues, plug looking good. Went to drive home later in the evening, started trying to seize in some way. It's on premix, sorta heavy. To get it home I plugged the oil pump back up. Today, put in an 85, it tried seizing less than a mile from home. Disconnected the oil pump again. Put in a 95, still tried to seize but the plug was soaked! Put back in the 82. Didn't seize. Rode it all the way across town and back, no issues. Besides it being slow, needing the cvt messed with. I need a deep socket 17mm to get it, only have a shallow one. Any ideas? Maybe figure out a way to do a leak down test? I'm skeptical of the seals or bearings. It makes a difference sound than my other bikes, and I've never had a crank bearing go out. From the stator side.

Oh yeah, leaned up the needle before up jetting, had some Eighth throttle sputters. Even though it's a w16 needle, seems pretty lean needle. Thanks, spaz12 for the carb tuning link. Explained a bit of things a little better. Here's the plug now...

I'd pressure test the engine. You might have a seal leaking causing the lean condition intermittently.

Any links on creating a leak down tester?

I made one from a blood pressure cuff, a 0-30 psi gauge, some plastic vacuum hose t connectors and a small pvc reducer I got at lowes. I block the exhaust port with a rubber expanding plug. I don't have a link but if you search around there are lots of threads about it. I spent about $25 total. Make sure to test your leak tester in water before trusting it. I has some leaks to fix first time I assembled it around the t connectors. I've used it three times already, twice I've found leaks at the base gasket and once at the manifold. Hard to tune a leaky engine.

There is a thread laying in this forum somewhere, don't be shy and use search

Not much luck finding it here, harder on my phone, but found some other stuff online to build my own. I'm usually pretty quick to be the one to say search it. Not sure why I didn't take my own advice lol

Wonderful. I'll be leak down testing everything in no time!

Intake on these are notorious spots for leaking as for oil seals never had an issue

Mixing the oil too heavy can actually lean out the mixture...

I remember now that almost a year ago, with a bit less knowledge, less research, and grasping at straws, I did try to remove the intake, but couldn't get the reed block past the engine mount arms, gave up, and put it back. Might have messed up the gaskets and the proper sealing.

Mixing the oil too heavy can actually lean out the mixture... That's a big suspicion I have. At least for today's issues. Especially when I had been running with the pump and premix. But it doesn't explain why it was seizing the other night after it had been running fine, the temp barely dropped from the time I left and the time it seized. And I had not added any fuel or oil at that point. It got me to work, but I tried not to run it over 9k rpm for more than a few seconds. The overall performance is quite disappointing at this point. And the ticking from the head is a bit unnerving. I bet this naraku kit is weak ported like the hoca I had on the Super 9. I wish the bolts lined up on this second malossi kit I have on the way for the Super 9. That would make things easier.

It seems like cheap made kits on tgb scoots you get a ticking sound i had a kit from aliexpress that did that and know matter what i did to fix it it would not go a way, also look at cylinder skirt and see if its hiting there,as for soft seizing issue put stock airbox back on or get a doppler alien eye it will make your life a whole lot easier and also way easier to tune

I had mentioned that it was still trying to seize at one point, even with a soaked plug from running a larger than necessary main in hopes to stop the seizing. Rode it home this morning from work, kept it at about 9k the most of time, sometimes venturing higher. No problems at all...
