Nice stuff you got there!!! Like the bike, like the racing stuf and i like the stormtrooper in the back. Don't like the Vespa...but thats because we've just got too many of em over here in Holland. They have good engines though! Are those fairings made out of metal or just plastic? Thanks, Lucass! Cool, you're from Holland! My step-father is from Rijswijk!! You liver near there, per chance?? He just came back last week!! haha Uh, i think the rear bulbous fairing is metal, not sure aboot rest... I still haven't had the chance for a complete check-over. sigh No im from Eindhoven, city in the south. And to be honest, i have no clue where Rijswijk is haha. Somewhere in the north i think hehe.

Senna1Rossi , what's your plans with the Vespa? Gonna make it fast? Sure! Not gonna go crazy, but I do want to do the basic to make it faster! What would you recommend that I start on first, spaz?? I have 5 miles on her now... didn't have too much time ride, other than just go up and doon the major road and get gas. The thing I did notice is that this thing is S L O W..... Definitely slower than the Vino. I know the speedo on bikes are notoriously inaccurate, but it shows topping oot at 35mph (Vino shows 40). But my major gripe are the brakes! Friggin thing feels like pair of wood calipers squeezing!

You should start with a top end then, or maybe just a pipe. You already have a tough little motor as it is so you can get a really good cylinder without having to replace the crank. Well, race cylinders are a different story, but for the most part you don't have to worry. Here's a good place to look and see what's available: scootertuning.ca/en/2010-vespa-lx-s-et2-50-2tYou can also convert it to LC if you want There's a few more places for good parts and I'll look for you later.

Thanks! Haha, I don't know if i want to go inside the engine though... What are the speed differences we are talking aboot if we go just the pipe, carb tuning, that "variable" thingy mod, new plugs... ?
p.s. oh, and what the heck is LC??

LC = Liquid Cooled AC = Air Cooled (or alternating current... depending on the conversation)

liquid cooled?? no way. LOL. I'd just get a another scooter!
edit:
wait a tic... oh yeah, that would mean that it wouldn't be a 49cc scoot.... got it.
btw, how fast could you make 49cc scoot top oot? 50mph??

I'm almost certain that you have a plate that restricts flow the carburetor and probably a restriction ring on the variator as well. The variator restriction, assuming it's there, is easy to remove and that will help with top speed. Quite a bit actually. The restriction on the carb is different. You'll need to go one size up on your main jet. This "mod" will help a little for acceleration.

With the right parts you could easily be near the top of the speed list.
A top end and pipe make an incredible difference in speed.

I'm gonna try to tackl the "variable" thing meself, but I'm sure I need to take it in for the carb mod... Shweet! Edit: btw, the starting acceleration is incredible on this little engine! 0-8, or 10mph is like a rocket! and then it goes to jogging pace to 35. LOL Whereas the Vino, it's just constant pace all the way to 40

Don't do that. I only live a few miles from you and have no problem helping you. There's no sense paying them a hundred bucks to do that. You'll need an impact to take the nut off the variator btw.

Stupid computer froze on me grr.
Anyway, yeah man, I sit around all day doing nothing so I'd enjoy getting out and working on a scoot. Especially if the weather stays like this.

Yasuni R is the best performance upgrade if you're looking for more top speed. A cast iron 70cc is the best upgrade for torque off the line.
