Okay the situation. While driving my new to me ZX50 it was smooth sailing no issues waiting at stop light idling fine when it just stalled Okay fine started right back up kept going. Stopped to get gas and it would not turn over had to walk it the 1Km to work. Checked the battery at work and it was a little low so charged it. Started to go for a ride after work and again waiting at a stop light(idling fine)it just stalled again. A couple of kicks later(electric starter doesn't engage whirrs put no engagement but that's for another time) it started up. Headed straight for home and this time waiting to turn left it stalled again. When I got home first thing that I checked was the spark plug and it was a BR6H while the manual calls for a BR8HSA. The Plug itself was a burnt black with plenty of electrode left. I am now planning to replace the fuel lines as well as the plug. And when I have check to see if the generator is charging the battery. Did I miss anything?

Possibly dirty pilot fuel circuit in carb?: clean the carb
That ZX is nice isn't it? Love mine!

Yeah just thinking of that as well. Look like the carb is leaking a tad bit as well. I got a nice little stain on my garage floor right under the carb.

Sounds like just what I did to my scoot last week. It soft seized (feels like stalling) on me a few times before I realized I had way too hot a plug (br7h). Now I've got to put a new cylinder and piston because of the damage. Lesson learned- always make sure your running the right plug!

Okay walked over to my local Crappie Tire(Canadian Tire)to get the correct Plug(to my surprise hey had some) and carb cleaner. So installed the new properly gaped plug and it was still stalling after a few seconds(unless you were on the throttle)of rough idle. Well poking around the carb I noticed that one of the screws was all the way out or there abouts. So I find my screwdriver an begin to tighten it in all the way and give her a try low and behold it starts no problem and idle is smooth but throttle doesn't move. move it out and the throttle moves again. Look it up the Throttle Stop Screw was all the way out causing the Throttle Valve to almost fully block the Carb and starving the engine of air and as a bonus it looks like it was also the cause of the leak from the Carb.

Thanks mate. Got a little lucky just happen to notice it while I was cleaning the out side of the Carb hoping to find the leak as I try to get it to stop stalling while idling. EXTRA Bonus the electric starter now works. Had to have bin the BR6HS spark plug right?

As I was tinkering within the engine bay I finally had time to look at the CDI in this thing. Quick question I keep reading about splicing the Light Green Wire to the Dark green Wire or Vise Versa to remove the Rev Limiter in the stock CDI(At top speed it feels like it can still give some more). But looking at the wires Both are Green with a Light Green Stripe? Asked the wife and she agrees they are both the same colours. If I buy a CDI for a Dio(OEM or Aftermarket) will that 2nd Green wire affect it or get by-passed?

from what i have read it's a green wire that comes out and goes back into the cdi. I've never had one myself, i think there are pics here of one. iirc it's just a few different makes that used them but I don't remember which one's...

You need one for a Kymco ZX, or one for a GY6 may work if you wire it correctly. There was one on a ZX I picked up that was a hack job but it ran, so?

Sorry having issues getting pictures to show. Wife Just HAD to upload Windows 10. Its a flipping pain in the arse can't get anything done because its all changed for the better you know Would that be the CDI? Its located right where it says it is in the service manual above battery on the right hand side looking forward. It has 5 wires heading into it with only 1 being green(the 1 in the picture). Quit different from the Picture you posted GSX600racer

LoL Possibly you have a ZX1 instead of a ZX2 or something? What year do you have? Possibly they are different from year to year.
