Hello from No(r)way My little project. It started when I got a China 50cc scooter for free. A TMS F2 as it is called in Norway It`s a Baotian bt49qt-12 The moped was a wreck when I got it. It lacked a few essential things to the engine, and the plastic was cracked and nasty. So it fitted perfectly into a project where plastic and small 39mm piston are not included I dream of cruising around on a stretched Honda Zoomer ... But I do not want to pay $ 1,100 for a used completely standard 50cc Zommer ... No(r)way is insanely expensive country to live in.... So I've decided to try to build myself a Honda Zommer clone of a Chinese scooter First off with the ugly plastic ... and in with a 11 inches engine mount The frame is quite similar to a Ruckus/Zoomer The seat and the seat frame is taken from an older Motorhispania 50cc racing moped.
New extended engine mount Twice as long as the original, from 100 mm to 200 mm Tried first with 280 mm ... which was too long. There was too much "open" space between the head and the frame. But with 200 mm, it was perfect. DIY tuning exhaust ... ala megaphone Have ordered 50mm BBK Racing camshaft 125cc intake REAL 20mm carburettor Racing Adjustable CDI Racing variator ++++ Waiting for my parts....and a ruckus "mailbox"... Update coming soon

Wow, that's pretty impressive work that you've done! That pipe I wonder how many people are going to be copying that in the very near future?! Keep up the good work and welcome to the forum!

and nice work on the custom. Is there anything in that megaphone to quiet it down or is it totally open?

and nice work on the custom. Is there anything in that megaphone to quiet it down or is it totally open? Hey you! It was a U bend (inside) exactly where I cut it, I cut away everything ... so now there are three 25mm holes ... one that is fully open, one with a hole drilled open pipe section. In the last hole, it looks as if it sits a catalyst about 40mm into the pipe ...? Catalyst on a china scooter ... not bad So the megaphone is somewhat muted .... and slightly open ... and a little green I hope it is noisy as hell

You aren't planning on deleting the engine plastics are you? Those are essential to keeping it cool, so I just wanted to check.

Only with an ice pack over the engine, it is certainly good enough cooling! No, I will not remove them ... but paint them ... and then "Hydro chrome"... I have all the equipment so why not use it...

You won't have a bushing on the second shock. It could transfer a lot of vibration into the frame, which makes it unpleasant to ride and can speed up failure of some parts and bolts rattling loose. It may wear on the mounts from the lack of a bushing. If the current shock doesn't fit the bill (sit on the scoot and find out), then use 1 proper shock.

Oh it's just good with little vibration .... sometimes. But as you say it can actually create major problems. Has nearly 20 years of experience with custom hardtail choppers, and vibration can ruin everything from light bulbs to the frame of a motorcycle. New shock absorber on the way ... with proper dim!

You'll get plenty of vibes with the bushing in place. Without a buffer between the engine and frame, it's ridiculous on these. I made the mistake of making the motor mount solid once. It made my vision blurry at times, cracked up all of the body panels, and the last straw was when a different part of the mount broke and the scoot swerved into the oncoming lane. No one was coming, but it was a reminder that simple mods that don't even make much difference for the good can have repercussions.
