Ok still haven't adjusted the pickup yet, but I did put the stock rollers in , it was so slow on take off and some of mid range.but it did get up to 37 mph. So I put the 6gram sliders back in and what a difference on take off, gets up to speed really quick. I finally hit 40mph . I'm pretty happy about that. Though any head wind brings me back to 37mph, if it's a bad head wind it puts me back to 35mph. Now I weigh 235lbs so I guess that's not bad. Now if I put an a9 cam and 20mm carb would that increase my speed more ?

A cam should pick up a bit of power. It may lower dynamic compression a little, which might not be a bad thing since you're hearing spark knock.

I would definitely upgrade the carb, I'm happy with my A9 cam. I say go for it. I can't guarantee significantly more speed but you'll enjoy the better performance. I max out around 40/43 and still trying to get to that 50mph milestone.

Ok I'm finally back ,sorry it took awhile had to save some money , ok update I got in a performance head with bigger valves. I checked them and they don't leak. I have a 21 mm carb from partsforscootes on the way, I had some issues with the cvt . It would start to take off ok but I couldn't seem to get any rpms up and then it would like skip mid range and go right into high gear with no rpm.well I took out cheap 6 gram sliders I had put in and they were toast . Put some 6 gram dr pulley in and a new stock complete clutch cause I think that was the main issue. Now it seems to run ok. Still only getting about 37 mph. I also have a tachometer on the way. I have a few questions if you all can help me with. I would appreciate it. When I put this all together will I need to upgrade the exhaust or can I use the stock exhaust or will it hinder performance? I did put in an a9 cam Can I use the stock air box or will it hinder performance? Right now I'm using a 92 jet in carb, might be running a little Rich . Had an 87 in stock carb and it ran lean. This 21 mm carb I got coming and big valve head I'm going to install what jet would you recommend I start with? Thanks

Not all stock exhausts are created equal. Most people seem to switch, but I think in many cases it's not necessary. In some it probably is. Some drill through their stock exhaust to make sure it's not restricted. It will make it louder though. Could be mild to very loud, depending how it's done. The stock airbox should work fine. Just make sure it's not restricted. Start large on the main jet. 100ish. Do some test runs from there and swap jets to find what works best, erring toward rich. www.49ccscoot.com/faq/carbtune.html#mainsel
