That airbox is a freaking nightmare to get attached on the stock carb, so I can imagine what that one was like. Take your Dremel to the bezel that came with the carb and get rid of that ring. Don't cut it back (shorter), file it smooth around the circumference. I had to do that to one of my Zuma's because it had an old crusty intake that wouldn't flex and stretch around that bezel.

I tried one without that bezel around but it would pop out right away. Then I used one with bezel and just squeezed it in there and it is holding for now. Lucky my airbox ring or whatever you call that is still soft and in good condition.
Test fitting with the engine removed is not a big deal but I can see it will be a nightmare once the engine is mounted. Also finding the right jetting will be a PITA. Remove, install, remove install.

Ok so I replaced every single hose, oil, fuel and vacuum. Mounted the engine and pipe. And it all came to a halt at the carb. I had those cheap bends that I got from treatland a long time ago which are total shit. The throttle and choke wire just won't go through. I need to buy the Dello or Malossi bends which are far better in quality. Treatland shipping is gonna kill me though.

I'll get them and ship if you think it will be cheaper?

Thanks spaz12 very kind of you. I did the math and it doesn't change much in shipping. It just adds burden to you. I'll bite the bullet and order that stuff and have it shipped directly. I have spend already more then I wanted those few bucks more won't make any difference.

Yea completely empty it takes .8 gallon. To make the situation worse the fuel level gauge doesn't work, so Im always running out of gas on the jog.

Pipe arrived today! Took 9 days from Germany to Japan. Very pleased with the packing. Double cardboard box! Good thing that there was no restrictor inside the silencer. There was one inside the flange though. Large #3 phillips screwdriver -> wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle,... and off it came. The weld was luckily small. Now the only thing left are my bends from treatland and I'm ready to fire her up.

Your gonna love that pipe and bore, the pipe comes on around 5-6k and is strong til like 10k. I had that same carb on mine- w the same pilot. Don't know why there getting shipped with 50 pilots, but my jog had one too. Real small main tho, like 76

benji Yeah, I have no clue why the pilot jets are always so big. I got pretty much every kind of pilot jet and main jets from 70 up to 125 So I am good covered there. I was thinking to start with a 37 pilot and 88 main jet since my blue Jog used to run the same carb with same pipe and Polini Sport and I ended up using a 35 pilot and 85 main jet. Airbox snorkel removed. Pipe is good for that price. And I think she'll last a few months before becoming totally rusted. The Prebug is my rain scoot so better a rusted Next-R instead of a rusted Yasuni City 16

I think spray wax for wood furniture works well as a rust inhibitor? Corrosion told me about this.

Received my treats from San Francisco. As I thought those Dellorto bends are far better in quality. So I installed the wires and all but that goddamn airbox and stock intake suck big time. Who the hell invented such a design? Anyways, getting the carb inside the intake without the airbox on is not a big deal. It needs a bit of force to push it in. But then installing the airbox with the carb in place already is impossible. That damn thing is build like shit. So I removed the carb from the intake and put the airbox rubber colar on first, then pushed it all inside the airbox. Then I tried to put the carb back into the intake but that damn thing just won't go all the way in because I have nowhere to grab and put force or leverage to it. I pulled, pushed like crazy but no luck. Lucky I ordered a derestricted intake which is a bit softer so I'll install that and hope that all fits. God I hate that airbox! Stupid thing!
