Anyone fitted 117-125cc cylinder to a minarelli engine?

I believe the physical limitations are around 110cc for off the shelf stuff. That would be using a 48mm stroke crank and a 54mm cylinder.

Anyone fitted 117-125cc cylinder to a minarelli engine? Those are for the bws/aerox 100 based motors. They are designed for a longer stroke with a long rod and the stud spacing is different

Depends on how much meat is on the cases. Inside and out.

110cc is about as big as they'll go easily. By easily, I mean without much beyond possible case clearance work and fiddling with how the cylinder is setup to get the specs close. Not so easy to even find 48mm cranks now, at least not that I know of at prices that aren't appalling.
Trying to fit the Aerox 100 cylinders is pointless IMO. If you're going to go to all of that trouble, you might as well build something powerful... like switching to an MX top end that has big transfers. That kind of build is a lot of work though.

Yep! Don't fall into the trap of drooling over those 117 to 125cc cylinders like I did in the beginning too- they're not meant for our Minarelli's.
They're meant for the BWS/Aerox 100 engines which weren't imported into the U.S.... Not to say you couldn't get your hands on one, but they're very very rare here. So yeah, 54mm and 110cc is about the max...

Depends on how much meat is on the cases. Inside and out. Bearings are bigger on the 100 motors also. 190 cut a cpi to fit a bws100 stroker crank into and 2strokd split the motor in half racing. Not meant for it. For what it would cost to get the 100 cases here and the low power you would get from one of those 125 cylinders you could have a hyper race setup making way more power based on the 50cc cases

What is the Genuine Rattler 110 engine? Is it based on the Aerox 100 or something else?
Not that it matters as those things seem to be unicorns, at least around here.

There's a guy selling the whole bike up here, an entire rattler 110. It's kinda ratty, and been modified, and he still wants a lot for it. I'd LOVE to get me one of those motors haha. I think there's a malossi 125cc kit for em, but not sure on that.

Wow. You search that Malossi part number for the variator and it comes up for the Rattler 110 only. That must be a really oddball engine.

I installed a BWS100 crank in a 50 Chinarelli case years back, cases were very thin after the fitment,,it didnt make it thru the first day at the drag strip.. 83mm crank wheel,25mm ID main brg, shaft ends same as big spline 90cc cranks except the vari end is 6mm longer,90mm rod,14mm piston pin..Never messed with the cylinder as I grafted an RM125 jug on it...

Thankyou I was looking at possibly using a cr125 barrel to gain the transfer port size.(only cause I have spares lol) By the photos online the bws100 barrel seems to have larger transfer bulges on the outside. Reason for looking at crank was for longer rod and i believe the crank pin is also larger...might be able to take more punishment. I'm guessing the crank wheel area was the thin spot? Bearings.. possibility to reduce shaft size??
