Hello, I have a piaggio nrg power (aircooled), when i go full on the throttle its seems alright at first, but about 3 minutes on full throttle it starts doing some weird rattle sounds like there would be some loose bolts or something, and then about 5 minutes on full throttle it dies and theres smell of burning rubber/plastic, and then after few minutes it starts as normal. Could that be overheating problem because it is aircooled and i have 70cc kit? And whats about the rattle noise, it sounds like its comming from the spark plug, i will try to record it next day. And another thing is that it only hits about 73kmh (45 mph) max speed, shouldnt it be faster for a 70cc ? I would really appreciate some help, thanks.

piaggio cdi's are notorious for that issue. that is where I would start.

Could be soft seizing if you didn't upjet for the 70cc bbk kit.

Could be soft seizing if you didn't upjet for the 70cc bbk kit. Is there a way to measure jet size? because i dont know what size they are. And if the jets are too small do i replace both of them or just the main jet? And what size jet/jets should i get ? my carb is 21mm

What you're describing sounds a lot like overheating/soft seizing. The "rattling" noise is probably detonation... Get that carb tuned soon for sure! Tons and tons of info here especially in the tech section that cover carb tuning and the questions you've asked. It's not overly difficult to do but def a necessity for kitted scoots!

^^ what he said. forget what I said, well don't forget it. I just skimmed your post when I replied the first time and saw "piaggio dies when hot and runs fine cold" the cdi wouldn't make any kind of noise when it screws up.

there are jet kits that have a variety of sizes. I would look for one that ranges from 75-110 main jets. and 30-45 idle jets.

Okay, ill try to get my hands on a jet kit. Is there a simple way to measure jets that i have right now in my carburetor? beacause im really not sure what size are they.

Normally the jets will have the sizes stamped into them.
I say normally as some cheap Chinese here are not stamped at all.

And what size jet/jets should i get ? my carb is 21mm The jet size should be stamped onto the jet in the carb. if your bike runs well below half throttle then your idle jet is fine, but at full if it is doing what you say you may need to go up a few sizes

62 sounds way too small for the engine's demands! As suggested to me before, try ~100 and tune from there.

62! Wow, you're lucky you didn't really mess your engine up! I'd start around 100 main jet and work down. Definitely got to check and retune carb whenever you do work to your engine.

Damn 62? that is wayyy too small, i hope you didnt case severe engine damage. Either way, buy a jet kit and experiment. Start from 90-100 and see if it runs better
