Hey All,
I've been having some trouble with my GMW 50cc Chinese scooter. The scooter starts fine, idles fine, and runs fine; however, after the engine gets warm, the scooter begins to stall out when stopped (i.e. when the rear wheel is immobilized either on the ground or with the rear brake when elevated on the kick stand). The scooter doesn't stall out immediately, the engine slowly bogs down until it dies. I checked for vacuum leaks and couldn't find any. The gasket on the intake manifold looks good. I've replaced the stock carburetor and fuel filter with a new one. I tried adjusting the idle and fuel/air mixture, but it seems without setting the idle ridiculously high the scooter continues to stall out when the back wheel is immobilized. The stalling is worst when all of the lights are on putting the engine under full idle load.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong here? The only other thing I could think of is the fuel petcock. I did take a look at the spark plug and it looks like the engine is running rich, but that could just be from me adjusting the fuel/air mixture.
Any help is much appreciated!

Stalling when Rear Wheel Immobilized Check if large clutch nut has loosened and is contacting the inner bell surface, or a pad is not retracting.

That does sound like a clutch issue. If the clutch stays engaged for any reason (like the ones tortoise2 listed above), it puts a load on the engine instead of disengaging as it should. It can also be dangerous because a high idle could make the scooter move on it's own. In case it's helpful to you : www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EjW-iSP-Q8

Thanks guys, turns out it was the clutch. The small springs that disengage the clutch shoes were broken and the clutch had basically torn itself apart. Replaced the clutch and it solved the problem.
Thanks for all the help!
