Jan Thiel(he's De-Man in 2 stroke guru's) said they used wire rope(I call aircraft control cable) chucked in a high speed drill to beat the carbon out of their factory road racing RSA125 pipes at Aprilia..

Plug one end of exhaust system and fill with a solution of caustic soda, leave overnight, that's what we use to do donkeys years ago. Wear gloves and eye protection when doing it though. Can be nasty stuff but works well.

Caustic Soda? Lye? Sodium Hydroxide? What's the ratio to water? I've never used the stuff before.

I can't remember off hand, should say on packet or google it. Don't use it on aluminum as it will destroy it.

I ended up going with a caustic soda soak, but man I'll never do it again. Works great getting the goo out, but the sheer amount of black water I ended up with after the wash/rinse was kinda nuts. Filled several gallon jugs with waste water and I still have some black coming out after lubing the inside. Me + any liquid seems to equal a mess no matter how careful I am, so many spills around Ah well. The Leo Vince for my Zuma is now clean(er) and the silencer is repacked, going to try it out today.

I'm like that with oil, no matter how hard I try always spill it over the garage when they let me use the ramp to service the car.😊
