Is the exhaust valve sticking? How does that relate to very little compression? I didn't see any cracks or anything else wrong with the engine. If either valve is open, or not sealing well, then there will be little to no compression as the gasses will just flow/leak out past the valve as the piston comes up. Since you have the head off, invert it and pour some alcohol into the head and set it someplace level. Fill it up such that both valves are completely covered. You could use water instead and then just rinse off with the alcohol to dry it. If you see fluid running out of the bottom, or if the level goes down...your valve/valves is/are leaking. If it can leak a liquid, it can easily leak air. Bill
