The ''ABS'' generally just makes the brakes feel spongey. The first thing I check if there is a pulsating sensation when breaking is the trueness of the disk.

Ok, so I was looking at the front wheel and started to very slowly spin the wheel. During most of the rotation I hear nothing but at a certain point on the disc is rubs against the brake pads and makes a faint metal grinding sound, then goes away until that same spot makes it back around to the pads again. I assume that is a dead giveaway that the disk is warped?

It's probably optimistic, but you could try removing the bolts and re-torquing them in 2-3 steps. Not sure how common it is on scoots, but on other vehicles applying uneven pressure to the bolts/lugs can cause this problem. Might not do a thing for you, then again if you are willing to put the effort out you might fix it for free. :dunno:

Which bolts are you talking about? the ones that hold the brake caliper on, the bolt for the wheel or the bolts that attach the disc to the wheel?

are you feeling it in the brake lever or is it from the front end? If its in the Lever i would recommend bleeding your brakes. If its in the front end i would try replacing the rotor.

If the disc is warped toward the outside, you can tap on the high spot with a rubber hammer light to medium hard. It shouldn't take much to true it up. If it's warped toward the inside then you would have to remove the disc and flip it over and tap on it. To find the high spot without a dial gauge you can put a marker really close the rotor and spin it.

Quick question. i have noticed that on my new scoot the front brakes pulsate all the time when stopping, almost like they are bucking. Kind of hard to describe. They stop me just fine however I was wondering if this was normal and perhaps part of the ABS or if the rotor may be warped. Or if it could possibly be just cheap pads from the factory. Any ideas?
