EDIT : Scoot week has begun! Go to page 3 for the challenges and full details or just CLICK HERE!
On June 1, 2019, the 49ccScoot.ComÂź forums will be 10 years old! I wanted to do something fun for anyone that likes to ride to celebrate, and that's Scoot Week.
Scoot Week will begin on Saturday May 25, 2019 (Memorial Day weekend) and end on Saturday June 1, 2019 (49ccScoot's 10th Anniversary). The official beginning will be whenever I post the list of challenges on the morning of May 25th. I won't give you an exact time, so just be on the lookout for a post in this thread on that morning. If I am certain of a more precise time at some point, I'll update this post. The end will be 8PM US Eastern time on June 1, 2019 and all entries must be posted before that time. Anything submitted after that date and time will not be counted.
Scoot Week is a riding game, a bit like Scoot Tag. Scoot Week is totally separate from Scoot Tag though, and isn't played exactly the same. I will post a list of challenges accompanied by pictures to give an example of what I'm looking for. Participants then have until the end of the event to complete these challenges and post the related pictures in this thread. Challenges will be worth varying amounts of points. The winner will be the person that accumulates the most points during the event. For example; one of the challenges could be "your scoot and a grocery store". In order to complete that challenge, you would need to post a picture of your scoot and a grocery store in the thread before the event ends.
Points will be totaled by me (90GTVert ) after the event ends, so you won't even need to add up your own scores. I'll judge them and post the final results as soon as I can. I will tell you in advance that judging will be somewhat strict. Images will have to meet the criteria in my eyes to receive points. For example, if I ask for your scoot and a car and you post a picture with a toy car you probably won't get any points. Again, you will have images as examples and I'm open to questions if there is an issue understanding any of the challenges.
Once the challenge starts, posts should not be edited. Any images in an edited post may not be accepted so you may miss out on points.
All registered forum members can play. Forum registration is free, so there's no excuse not to join us if it sounds like a good time to you. Tell your friends!
All images submitted must include a scooter, moped, or motorcycle so make sure your 2-wheeler is tuned up and ready for Scoot Week. Scooter trikes are also permitted to play. If you've got more than one scooter etc... and want to use one for some challenges and another for other challenges, that's fine too. If it looks like your scoot is being carried in a car, truck, trailer, etc... then you won't receive any points. This game is about riding.
Each picture will need to include an object that I specify at the beginning of the event. For example, you may need to have a paper plate in each picture. If any submissions don't include a paper plate, then they would receive 0 points. No, I won't tell you what it will be. I don't even know at this point. I do know that it won't actually be a paper plate. This is done to ensure that no one can collect pictures before the event starts.
Oh yeah, and the person that accumulates the most points will receive a $100 eBay gift card code. The code will be provided to the winner by private message.
In the event of a tie, there will be a "sudden death" challenge where a challenge is provided and only the parties tied for first place participate. The first person to post a picture that meets the challenge will be the winner.
All rules are subject to change till the beginning of the event.
So that's the scoop on Scoot Week. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc... feel free to post.
