Cool.
It should be here 7 days from now. As long as it can cruise at 45 I won't do anything besides change the fuel lines. I've read up on the 190 swap and it looks cool but a little beyond something I could do in a day without help. If the motor get's damaged I will try the 140cc or anything that is a direct swap. I have seen CR 250 motors dropped into a Grom. That would be the ultimate goal. Or heck, even a CR 125 to get that easy to wrench 2 stroke powerband. I can't weld or fabricate yet so it's impossible for me to get too custom.

Nice thing about the Hellcat is that if the engine destroys itself, a new 125cc Lifan or Piranha engine is about $300 and swaps right in. $400 will buy you a 140cc that’ll get your attention. Ooh.

It arrived. Where is the battery on this thing? Everything seems okay so far. Some minor cosmetic issues. The rear rim is scuffed from a wire that was used to hold it down in the crate. There is a defective chain tensioner on the right hand side. No matter how you set it, it does not sit flush on the rear or the swing arm. The left one is fine but it should be okay I ordered some Grom ones. I have no idea if the Grom ones will fit. So I guess connect the battery wherever it is, drain the shipping oil, put in some good stuff and try it out. Then replace the rear axle and swing arm bolts and chain tensioner with the Grom ones. I decided against using Grom motor bolts. The stock 8mm bolts should be good as long as they are not over tightened but we'll see.

Looks like the tensioner got bumped during shipment, likely can be bent back straight..

ERRR,,Bend the damn bolt to fit the plate...You should understand when buying a China knockoff, youve bought a "kit" that must be finished by the owner!!

Basically disassemble everything and put it back together, trust us, you’ll be surprised what you find. And it’ll ease your mind.

I have the Grom chain tensioners, rear axle, motor and swing arm bolts. I just haven't put them on yet. I finally got the front fender on. Tomorrow I will go through the plastic and bolts, change the oil and fuel lines and try to start it. I would do it now but I don't have an inside space to work on it. I still don't know where the battery is and there is a creak when turning the handle bars to the left. This thing pretty janky.

Not necessarily the engine itself, just the components ie: Brakes, suspension, steering, chain, swing arm etc. Not to say make a pile of parts but do go and check things over before that first ride. It’ll also familiarize yourself with different components.

Battery is probably under the seat. May be a latch at the rear under the seat to release it.

Take the time to read the link I provided for you. It and the videos will guide you through the process. You will identify things like connectors not mated all the way, wiring routed poorly and not secured just waiting to get pinched and leave you stranded.Things like the creaking in the steering. Find out what it is and fix it before it screws something up. It could even be dry bearings, stuff like that is a disaster waiting to happen.

Thanks. It looks like I have tons of work to do after looking over the PDI. Now I'm wondering if the front tire is on backwards.
