Why is that? In case you get int9 an accident and bleed out? What’s the reason? Might be having some charging issues with my Ruck. I had a featherweight battery but it just didn’t have the ass to kick the starter over (Taida big bore kit and Taida big valve head) I bought a Shorai battery (wow!!) and it has loads of cca’s for the size but I will have to monitor charging voltages. I have led’s and just hooked up the trail tech vapor. What’s a decent head temp for cruising? I’m getting like 220? The funny thing is the temps get HIGHER while cruising and LOWER at idle.? Shouldn’t it be the opposite with the increase in rpm’s (fan turning faster) it should cool better than sitting still. Weird. I have the warning at 250 and danger alert set at 280. Does this sound right?

Does this sound right? If you're worried about voltages you should get one of these. I think the higher temps are due to the fact that the air you're moving at idle or low RPMS is stagnant or not as cold as the air you would be moving at higher speeds. I could be wrong though.

Why is that? In case you get int9 an accident and bleed out? What’s the reason? So he doesn't have to try to find it, this may help : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/24836/accidents-proof-safety-gear?page=1Might be having some charging issues with my Ruck. Put a gauge on there and find out for sure if it's an issue before you worry too much. You can get voltmeters super cheap from China. May not be what you want for a nice Ruck, but if it's just a temp thing it may work for you. I've got one on my two-stroke and for a dollar it has worked out fine for me. You can prob get them from US sellers and not take a month to arrive like mine did. You could also just do quick checks with a multimeter and see if it's getting good charging voltage with your accessories on. Another option is to make sure the battery is charged. Check it before riding. Then check it when you get home to see if it's still good or if it is draining a lot while riding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS58b5jZ0icRain, rain, rain. Not a good day for test runs, but the voltmeter that 190mech linked to a month ago came in today. $1.20 shipped and it took 1 day short of a month to arrive. I thought about putting silicone in to seal it, but it looks like it would be tough to seal from all sides so I just left it as-is. I made a bracket out of some thin aluminum that used to be a SSD tray. May have to use something more substantial if it doesn't hold up. Luckily it's a large display so I can see it easily enough even low mounted. I was initially going to just use clips for the battery terminals, but thought it wouldn't be a bad thing to have more permanently so I wired it in properly for key on operation. Checked vs meter. Shouldn’t it be the opposite with the increase in rpm’s (fan turning faster) it should cool better than sitting still. Weird. I have the warning at 250 and danger alert set at 280. Does this sound right? What is happening is normal. If you're new to CHT gauges, it's not like a car or motorcycle with a liquid cooled setup where you're under a low load cruising and the airflow through the radiators keeps it cool and it's sitting still without airflow that makes it heat up till the fans kick on. In those cases your temp gauge is usually monitoring coolant temp. When you're directly monitoring the cylinder head temperature, it will get hot under load and cool at idle. WOT is not always the hottest point, but that's usually tuning related because rich mixtures can provide a lot of cooling and lean mixtures can make them heat up. I wouldn't worry at all at the temps you're seeing.

Spaz-I like the volt meter man! I’ll check around for something cheap. Yeah it’s not charging— enough. I had it running and it’s at 12.4vts. When I shut it off it immediately jumps to 12.8....12.9.....13.0.....13.1.......at rest. I have an 11 pole stator and rectifier and my guess is I have a wire crossed somewhere. I don’t like wires so I ran them all through the frame for cleanliness. Sometimes that’s not a good thing.
Brent-thanks for the links. I’ll read up on our buddy later. Started to read this morning before work and ran out of time. Gravel can be a bitch sometimes. Especially with our small, skinny tires. I am running a 100/60/12 and it’s small. Btw, I have a slow leak in it too. It’s in a very small area along the sidewalk I believe where the sidewalk sticker is. Someone recommended a tube in the tire but I’m not sure if that’s safe at 70mph!!!??. I need to find a place that mounts these small diameter tires in Salisbury. Anyway, gotta spend time with the wifey....

I have a front frame tuck too so I understand the pain it could be to troubleshoot, but the last thing you want to do is break down, specially during the 48hrs of ruckus. Not only would it be a headache to fix on the road, but you'll also lose precious time

Got it fixed! Eeeeeeeeeasy! In the rear where I ran it through the frame I noticed there were 3 yellow wires going into the plug and 2 yellow wires coming out of the plug... what?? Checked the voltage on the 2 yellow wires and got 2.5vt out of one and 4.5? Out of the other. But only one was hooked up! The other pinned wire got lost in the wire loom and was pulled out. Yeah!

@90gtvert I know you have a good carwash video that is 48hrsofruckus gold 😎
Send what you guys can to smallbore2wheels@gmail.com
Thanks

Dom’s leaf pile wipe out is legendary.
He sets it up... drives back and then waits for a car to get out of the way. Then he hits it wide open and totally muffs it slightly out of camera view. You hear this “ooof” then just the engine idling.
That’s the best. That’s legendary.
