Also, I'm planning on putting taller gears in, in hopes of a couple more mph, and I don't really know much about gearing and how it all works. I'll do some research, but I'm eyeballing these two gear sets on PFS... www.partsforscooters.com/146-39-Polini-15-42-Gear-Setand www.partsforscooters.com/160-1-Jasil-15-50-Gear-SetIf I bought the Polin gear set, I would also have to buy a new clutch shaft? However, with the Jasil set everything is included? And what is the practical difference between the two ratios? Polini being 15/42 and Jasil being 15/50. The Jasil set would lend itself toward a higher top speed than the Polini? And then comes the bearings... should I wait to open it up before ordering replacements? I would like all new innards for the cases and I think bearings, crankshaft and gears covers it, correct? Sorry for 20 questions. Any clarification or links to explanations would be greatly appreciated!

Jasil is drop in, and a clutch shaft swap (easy peasy) when the Polini kit will require a press.
Jasil changes the primary gearing, Polini is the secondary gearing. You will not need a clutch input shaft for Polini.
Maybe combine the two... just kidding. Or am I?

What is the difference in results between changing the primary or secondary gearing? Will I NEED a press or is there a cheat code I can do in the garage/balcony haha?

Some people use a vice to press the gears. Not something I would do. It's more expensive, but much easier to buy ready pressed.

Well either gearing will make a difference. IDK your stock gearing setup, but you can count the countershaft gear and the final drive gear and get the ratio, then apply that ratio vs the Polini to see what kinda gains you are getting. The Jasil is a 20% gain alone, which should be good enough (:

I’ll probably try to find the Polini gears pressed then I think.
I’ll have to do some quick mafs to figure out what I’m going to do for sure.

You can always go to your local gas station inspection/garage shop and ask them to press it on for you, it’ll only take a minute at most. Most garages have a shop press. Just make sure you have the stock gear and shaft ready to be pressed off and show them the orientation of the way the new gear is supposed to be put on the shaft directionally. I have a set of 15/50s that I’ve had laying around for months and need to get them on this weekend.!Luckily a buddy works at an gas station garage (Sunoco) and he said just to bring him lunch.
Did you get straight cut or helical cut gears? The straight cuts will be much louder because they are meant for track use and racers don’t care much about noise. The 15/50s are usually helical and won’t rob you completely of your take off acceleration, though I do not know the ratios of a Jog. Those drop-in Jasil’s from partsforscooters.com look like a very easy option. The members here got me hip to the ratios on the 02-05 Zumas and the difference in ratios from the 08-11 models. In my case gears were a MUST.

In my case gears were a MUST. I didn't know it was something a shop could do so easily. That makes it a little more realistic. As long as the directional orientation is correct, the exact location of teeth in relation to each other is insignificant, correct? I haven't actually bought gears yet because I didn't know which ones to buy. I was a little scared of buying any that needed to be pressed in because I didn't know it's something a local shop would do fairly cheap. Also, about to start school again and life will be going bye bye, but I should be able to find some time now and then to tinker.
