Back again guys. So i have pretty much always had a problem with the throttle having a good bit of play. Trust me i have adjusted the cable as much as i could with the adjuster. Still not much luck. So i thought maybe get a new throttle tube? Would or could that help? And i cant really mess with it at the carb because its kind of a custom fit for the slide tube at the carb. I think the scooter shop that put my cable on did a poor job or maybe put the wrong part on. But replacing the cable is not an option at this point. I took the top cap off of the cable mechanism up at the handle bar and it just seems sloppy. Even when i fully adjusted the cable under the handle bar. So pretty much what im asking is what is the usual or standard tube size. Or maybe i could buy a better version of one that has more adjusting capabilities.

How about a pic of where the cable connects to the carb?

If you have a lot of free play in the cable. And have taken up all of the adjustment, it very unlikely a new throttle tube will cure it. Normally the adjustment on the bars is for fine adjustment. The rest should be adjusted at the carb side.

ok i can grab one. i basically had to cut some of the sheathing off and slice the little metal rings around the cable to get enough braided part through the tube. the little arm or tube on my new carb was longer than all the other ones i had. and what i dont understand it how it could be so "tight" on the carb side but not up at the twist.

aeroxbud im pretty sure i have tried everything up at the handle bar to get all the slack out but didnt feel a difference. and if i did it kept popping out of where it splits to the oil pump and it stays like full throttle. ill take some pics here soon.

It sounds like you have cut off too much off the outer sheath. Could you of not used the adjustment from the top of the old carb. Then you wouldn't of needed to trim anything?

No i tried that first. The bolt holes wouldn't line up and the screw/ bolts were a much larger size than any other top cap n any other carb i have. Ill get some pictures today after work

Is by chance your cable like mine where it is actually a single cable on the throttle splits under the front fairing into two cables? You have to adjust both halves individually?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the rubber boot on the carb top should have a thread under it. Pull back the boot. Then wind the nut out.

They go to oil pump and carb. Adjust to equal slack till you find the correct spec. The adjuster pics look like there is a lot of adjustment left in them.
