My poor little ruck was left in my parking garage at work until now. It obviously wouldn’t start, my fault, so i took it home and am now in the process of cleaning the carburetor. I got it out with minimal swearing and only had to remove two little screws. It is a 2011 by the now. My question is how much fuel should be coming out of the fuel line when i try to crank it over. I am getting what i would call a quick dribble. Should it come out with more force? Should more come out? I just don’t know what is normal. Any thoughts and or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Well I know what a big part of the problem was. First let me ask if the inside of the carb is supposed to be green? Can anyone recommend a rebuild kit. So I see a carb rebuild kit in my near future. I will keep you posted if anyone wants to chime in.

PM your address and I'll send you some jets.

isn't your ruckus a 4 stroke? might get more help in the slowpoke 4stroke section.. J/K . the green in your carb is good old evaporated ethanol. when the liquid part of ethanol evaporates, it leaves behind "corn dust" that is the green residue you speak of. worst part is they pretty much force us to use it because almost all regular unleaded gas in America is now "Blend Gas" with 10-15% ethanol mixed in to cut production costs and raise repair costs. the first generation of obd2 cars 1996-2005ish emission systems will throw lean codes if theres too much "blend". but that's another story. should be able to clean it easily with some carb cleaner and an old tooth brush.

I guess i could start over in the right section but its already here and i am technology challenged. I was wondering what the green junk was it seems to clean out ok. The black sludge is a little harder to get out.

First let me thanks Happy for jets , they came in the mail today. Then let me ask a question. Does anyone have a good method for removing a stubborn jet. It just will not budge. I cut the groove a little deeper and the brass just keeps chipping off. I’m afraid it will snap off even with the opening and then i will never get it out. I had to stop before i threw it across the shop. So any ideas would be great.

Also. What is the green clogged opening that is beside the jets? It looks like it might be important.

When you screw that new jet in you just want to touch bottom + very little. That thing is brass. Not saying you planted that thing in there or anything ... But to whoever: don't crank those down.
