hello people, i am having some issues with my multivar. i think that the reason for it is me not having the propper "adapter"/spacer for it, im still using the stock spacer and there is prob a thickness differance and than my drive boss is not in the right place on the crank etc.... so if someone could maybe mesure the thickness of the spacer that comes with the kit when you buy it, i would be infinitly thankful.and if anyone knows the exact length of the driver boss i would appreciate that info as well. i did put a spacer behind the vario now too, but idk if its the right size, and i have a lathe so making that spacer is no problem, only have to know the dimensions of it

I have put many Multivars on Piaggio motors , some of which were Derbi scooters (not with the derbi motor). The Malossi multivar comes with 2 spacers, a black metal one and a black plastic one. Throw the black plastic one away. Remove the old stock variator. There will be a shiny white metal stock spacer behind the stock variator. Remove it, and replace with the multivar black metal spacer. Install the new multivar (no spacers in between the variator plates), then install the fan disk, special slotted washer, and nut. Some Piaggio's have a very thin washer right before the nut, some don't. By the way, if I remember, I think there is a 1 or 2 mm difference between the old spacer and new spacer that fits behind the variator. The Multivar is meant to fit perfectly on the Piaggio with the spacer they provide so no machining should be necessary.

dude thanks for the info, very detailed. but the problem is not me not knowing how to mount it or how it works, i just needed the width of the spacer because i bought as used multivar and didnt get the metal spacer, i klnow that the plastic one is a restriction dont worry if anyone needs to know, the dimensions of the metal spacer as 14.8mm id, 25mm od, 6mm thick. that 1-2mm thickness is the thing that is fing me, i had a stock spacer, now there is a washer there, but il make a proper spacer today, once again thank you very much for the detailed reply, even if i did not know how to do it, i would know after reading that

Found it in my notes. Stock spacer is 5.5mm , multivar spacer is 6.0mm.
